• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All Christians do not act like Christians BUT if there were no Christians this world would be in a sorrowful shape.

The laws that allow us to have a civilized society come from the Ten Commandments. Without the firm foundation of God- one is like a ship set adrift in a stormy sea.

Don't let yourself get sucked into the black hole of sin. You get too close and you will be captured and spend eternity there.

In Christ, Patrick

But seesaw, my dear, where do you think the laws came from in the first place?  The laws had to come from someone, originally....

Yeah, but not just from the ten commandments - there was laws for killing people and stealing along time before the ten commandments.

This should be interesting...

If there were written laws before the 10 commandments, what were they?

What should be interesting? I am not trying to start an arguement but even the egyptians had laws for killing and stealing before the ten commandments.

Hey seesaw...how are you doing?

I'd kind of like to call you on your last post.  What laws were there for stealing and murder before the 10 commandments?  Also, who put those laws in place?

~Peace in Christ,

Terri

I don't know who made the first laws but there was laws for killing people before the ten commandments. The ancient Egyptians even the Maya had laws for killing.

No, show me where any culture has a set of written laws prior to the Ten commandments.

You know- Faith and science is not like a seesaw.(an increase in one causes a decrease in the other & visa versa)

People who exclude the possibility of God in their scientific endeavors are biasing their experiments by limiting the possible conclusions.

Science seeks to find truth, as faith also seeks to find Truth. When science finds the ultimate truth- that Truth will be God. I can say this without scientific investigation because I have faith. You may need to take the long way around and arrive at God with the rest of the scientific community who discount the possibility of God. When all science is uncovered- there will be God.

Sure science is the future (here on earth) but heaven or hell is the ultimate future.

There is no contridiction between science and God!!!!!!!!!!!
