  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, it's that time when I just grew out of the bra size I'd been in. Just as a little background I have always been a special size meaning that I've only found two shops in the city I live in that carries bras my size... how I'd love to walk into walmart and buy a bra that fits.

So anyways, having the correct bra size has always been my greatest burden during pregnancy.... my first pregnancy I ended up in a 34 G I think.... and with each pregancy the size goes up.... Now I'm in a 36 I. I was buying Medela bras (the ones with underwire) but they don't go above a 36H.... and the cup is just a little too small.

I have soooooo many bra sizes at home in my drawers and have spent SOOOO much money in attempts to find a comfortable bra but in the end end up being soooo dissapointed because in one way or another they just don't fit. Every pregnancy I end up buying a size 38 band... and every pregnancy I kick myself for it because a 38 is just too big.

So I go out of my way to go the one of the few places that carry my size... or atleat that did carry my size... and I told the lady who decided to fit me right off the bat "a 38 is too big"... but did she listen? So, she puts a measure tape loosely around me says I measure at a 40, and sure enough gives me a medela size 38 H to put on and I responded "I'm not buying that!" Duh, I already told you that 38's are too big! And she responds defensively "well, just so you know, you can't come back and exchange sizes after you buy a bra" and I add "well, I have that exact same bra size and style at home, 2 of them as a matter of fact that are very lightly worn because they DO NOT FIT Me! (no, I didn't say it meanly).... so she puts me in the only style they have in my size which does not have underwire and after only a few minutes of wearing it I decide not to buy it becuase i know that I know from experience that it will be very uncomfortable in just a little bit.

I was so angry with that lady when I left... simply because she just didn't listen to me.... I don't care what her tape measure says, she's not the one being who spends 50$ on that size and an hour later has upper back pain because the band is riding up her back and her muscles are tightening from the lack of support and trying to compensate.

Once when I had moved up in size from a 34DD to a 34 DDD I went to a shop to buy the bra and a lady (with very small boobies I might add) goes in to inspect me.... not that I asked, it's just what they do there and she just looks at me and states "oh, you're not a 34DDD!" then she refuses to get me the bigger cup size and instead gets me several different styles of a 34 DD.... all the while I'm telling her that they fit small, that I have several bras of that size at home, and that they just do not fit! Finally at the end I decide that I'm just going to go elsewhere to buy my bra, and right before I leave she makes sure to state "ok, but make sure you get a 34 DD, it's your size!"... what a woman with issues, that's all I have to say.

I hate it when people don't listen to me... I think I'd do a better job at fitting women in bras then these people do.

I love Dillards! They are so good, helpful, they listen and don't insist that you're a size that you know are not... after all, you're the one buying the bra, why do they care?

:oSo these days I just long to be home so I don't have to wear a bra at all and really don't look forward to having to leave the house so I have to wear one. At work I'm bringing an extra bra to change into so that once the first gets too unbearable I can change into the second and only have to bear that one for 4 hours or so! I hate bras..... it's always a problem in pregnancy... the other night I was wearing one that just fit too tightly and it was squishing my nipples and they felt like they were burning.... you know how tender our girls are during these times....

Can anyone relate?

some people just dont listen. you should maybe try a mother and baby shop that sell maternity cholthes. and they should let you try on as many as you like till you feel comfortable. cause they should know how important it is for a comfortable bra.

I have only been messured once in my life. and i told her i had been wearing a 34c usally but i was falling out so i bought a 34d but i was falling out that too. i messuer at a 32d and she got a bra for me to try on. i ended up i had 4 boobs. so she got the 32dd and it fit fine. so i dont think the mesurments are ver acurate at all.

you not alway find people with small boobs just dont want people to have big boobs...

My mum used to buy her bra's from catlouges so she could try them on in her own house and send them back if they didnt fit. you could perhaps try that. then you dont have to bother with fussy sales people.

Well, maybe it's actually my pain.:sigh:

It's hard to get a bra in the right size...and even once you do it might not give you any support.

I am a 30-32 G at the moment, but I can't find a store who stock bras in that size so I am wearing bras with back sizes which are too big for me. Tomorrow I am going to my favourite bra shop to ask them to order some that I found on the net. I don't want to purchase something I haven't tried on because, as I said, a bra can be the right size but not actually provide any support.

I get a lot of upper back pain too and I now have a weak upper back.:(

One thing I have tried which is not ideal but does work, it to buy a bra with a large back size and take it in down the side seams. This effects the back size without making the cups smaller, and if you do it right you can keep the girls pointing in the right direction.;)

Do you have a Dillards near where you live? They'll have your size! And not too pricey either... well, I mean you might find a bra for 20 dollars as opposed to 60 dollars... but they have a large range of bras....

I used to be a 32 DDD.... now after all the babies and all the weight well I already said in the post that I'm a 36 I.... I ended up buying some more 36 H's.. but they are a bit small and get really uncomfortable after about 4 hours of wearing them. If I knew how to add loops or could tailor my cloths I'd take my 38 H's in and have them add some additional hooks because those Medela bras I have would be perfect if it weren't for the fact that they slide up my back and cause back pain from the lack of support after a couple of hours... the cup size is just right though.... Actually, hmmm... I am taking some maternity pants in to get hemmed, I ought to inquire whether they can add more hooks to my bra.... don't know how complicated that would be... but it's worth asking about....

I have hit all the mother stores.... and well, they just don't carry my size.... they are fairly general in their sizes and don't usually carry those special sizes... when I was a 34 G I found my size at "BAby news" but they didn't carry larger then that and my 2cd pregnancy I ordered online and the bras didn't fit so I had to send them back and I don't like the inconveniance of having to do that though I have been looking.

The problem I am running into is that there are just not too many bras out there now in a size 36 I... Medela and many others that had carried my size don't go past a 36 H.... like I said, I should look into whether someone can add more hooks to my 38 H's... maybe that's solve the problem.....

I have concluded that at my size it's just about not possible to be comfortable..... Look forward to getting the problem resolved.

Thanks for your nice responses!

Oh yeah, I'm not one to compare bust sizes... because I just don't care... but I know some people have issues with bust size and that time I went to the store and the lady with the small boobies insisted that I was not the bigger cup size and that just would not get me the bigger cup size made comments like "well, some people want to be bigger but trust me, you don't want to be"... .something along those lines and I didn't say it, but I was thinking it "Lady, do you think I am getting some kind of ego need met because I'm telling you I need a bigger cup size.... " I thought about saying "I think the one with size issues is yourself, not me... don't project!" I guess it was a good thing I just chose to be nice and keep my mouth shut.... but I couldn't help but feel like SHE was the one having issues with the bust size... because she was so adament that I was not bigger then a 34 DD.
