  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Normally I don't play the part of thread-necromancer, but I figured just once it wouldn't hurt.

I just had my Eagle Ceremony this past month (see profile picture), even though I actually earned the rank in 2004 (being away at college plays hell with scheduling). Worked for 4 years at one of the greatest camps I know of, Camp Workcoeman in the Connecticut Rivers Council, teaching Scoutcraft, Handicraft, and finally running the archery range (still have my instructor certification for that, which is cool). I have been in scouting since the age of 6 (hurray for Tiger cubs!), and fully intend to stay involved.

I was but haven't been to a meeting for a while.

I made Eagle too!
Same here. I haven't been to a meeting since I moved to Arizona.

That reminds me, I think I need to update my membership to the OA.

LOL I am the first girl to say that she was a girl scout. I started at Keas and went up through to scouts but then my troop closed down due to lack of numbers, although I am looking at joining the ventuers in a town near-by.

Proud Eagle Scout checking in. I was in Boy Scouts from beginning Cub Scouts all the way till I turned 18 and then a bit as an Assistant Scoutmaster. I still go backpacking with a couple of my other Eagle buddies, and I try to drop in sometimes and stay at least partially involved with my troop.

How old are Eagle scouts cause we don't have them here

Eagle Scouts can be any age really. Generally, a boy enters Scouting when they are 11. And they have from then until they turn 18 to finish numerous requirements and get their Eagle Scout.

Once a boy has reached Eagle, they will always be an Eagle. It's a long, hard road. Many employers in the U.S. understand that and many people in general regard Eagle Scouts highly.
