  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Went to the show tonight at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, Colorado. It was stand-only (which was interesting with my sprained ankle), but they are one of the most entertaining bands in terms of dialogue that I have ever seen.

As for their opening acts, I definitely liked Over It (think Bullet For My Valentine without screaming, and add a violin), I could take or leave Quiet Drive (they weren't "strong" enough in their presentation), and I really liked Melee (punk with piano).

For thirteen dollars, that was a darn good show!

I saw them at Warped '03 and got a shirt and publicity photo signed; almost the whole time while getting the stuff signed they were joking with both me and the booth clerk.

They are one of the few mainstream bands from the last few years that I enjoy listening to (although I do prefer the original SR-71 version of "1985" to theirs).

BFS are awesome men, I have met and kept contact with both Erik and Jaret (The bassist and lead singer) and they are very friendly and down to earth.

They even helped me with a gift off the giving tree at my work one year, by sending the little girl autographed everything, and it was all personalized for her.

They are fun to talk to and hang out with.

Definantly a great band all around.

I missed their concert last summer but I will not miss it again! They are great!

They’re one of those bands that always puts me in a good mood, no matter what kind of day I’m having. Their songs are fun, catchy, and full of humour, but they also have a lot of heart behind them.

One of the best things about Bowling for Soup is that they don’t take themselves too seriously. They know how to have fun with their music, and you can really feel that in songs like “1985” and “High School Never Ends.” But at the same time, they’ve got tracks like “When We Die” that show a more emotional and reflective side, which I really appreciate.

I also love how down-to-earth and relatable they are. Their lyrics often deal with everyday stuff—growing up, feeling out of place, looking back on life—and they do it in a way that’s both funny and honest.

Overall, they’re just a great band to listen to when you need a laugh, a singalong, or even a little nostalgia. Anyone else here a fan?
