Both Saturday and Sunday Sabbath are Wrong

Almost all of the volumes of books arguing Sunday vs. Saturday Sabbath fail to understand that the Israelites used a calendar using a combination of the lunar and solar cycle.

Sir Robert Anderson used the 360 day calendar in some of his arguments about Bible prophecy. However, he failed to understand the Israelites made regular corrections to keep the calendar aligned with the solar calendar. If this had not been done, the time of planting would have been in Fall instead of Spring in less than 40 years.

If you are committed to keeping the Old Testament Sabbath, you will need a lunar calendar.

every time the believer/worshiper meets/sees or remembers/thinks of a human needing salvation is a "sabbath" i.e. a time for practicing faith by solicitous prayer - remember how Jesus Christ cast devils out of possessed people and healed sick every day, not only in saturday - the biblical days, weeks, months, etc. have a special meaning, which is why St Paul wrote:

Galatians 4:10-12 "Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am;"

to "keep the sabbath" means to keep the creature/creation of God holy and to sanctify it if necessary

Those who believe they must eat and drink only certain foods, regard old covenant festivals, new moons and weekly Sabbaths are worshiping Shadows. Jesus is reality. Torah(old covenant) ended at the Cross. Why would someone want to worship shadows?

Does this new covenant sound like abolishing the law?

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I don't know. I was in no way advocating that.

Nor was I advocating re-establishing Dietary or Ceremonial Laws that were fulfilled in Christ.

Was Paul just flappin in the wind when he wrote that the 10 commandments, with its Israelite Sabbath command, were the ministry that brought death? Then he went on to tell us that it came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory. Paul went on to write: If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness for what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

The 10 commandments were temporary(transitory) because Israel kept breaking the covenant that included the 10 commandments. God negated the covenant with Israel. This was done at Calvary. The Jews did their last dirty trick and God could not ever again tolerate their actions against Him. Calvary was when Jesus ushered in the new covenant to replace the old covenant, the one which He is mediator of and is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. The best promise of the new covenant is that it is open to all mankind. The old one was for Israel only. People had to become Israelites to join.

Secondly and not a lessor promise is that the covenant is based on Love and not on duty. The Mosaic(old) covenant was based on "tho shalt nots". If you love Jesus keep His commandments. His commandment is to love others as He loves us. This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If we believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as he commanded us we live in Him, and he in us. This is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. This is taken from Jesus' words in Jn13:34 and John's words in 1jn3:19-24.
