  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My suggestion: Find something new to do. This may seem impossible at the time, but there is always something new to do. The other day I was sitting with some friends for about two hours, discussing how bored we were. Then we suddenly decided to go and try to find some hot springs that someone had heard about from someone. While we were up there, it started snowing. It was probably one of the nicest evenings ever. So you never know.

That's a really good idea ... I also like to find new things to do ... :)

The best thing I've done when I'm bored is ask God what to do. In the good times, I'll get an answer and go do it. That's when God moments happen... Times when I get to share my faith with people or just times alone with God that are good for the soul. But lately when I get bored I'll go to the computer or TV or Videogames or eat or sleep... Then there's the worse times when I ask, God answers, and I don't do what He says... I'm growing.

me, sometimes im drawn to read my bible, othertimes I come on here (because there is quite a lot of stuff to do on here)- coming on here alone can lead to learning a whole bunch of things i didnt even know or know that much about- about the bible/reality/history, stuff like that. I love to get new knowledge, so i love every drop (well, most of it). Also, maybe go look for new Christian music online, check out different genres or w/e of it, that can be interesting sometimes.

I sometimes go watch some Christian tv, get some preaching going on, that is pretty good sometimes.

U can always go and IM people if they are on, and talk to friends. Or call up friends on the phone and see if they want to go do something.

I stay pretty occupied.

And u can always look to see if ur church needs help with anything currently, and see if u would be interested in helping in those areas, even if its just a few hours or something, im sure they would appreciate it.

And u might not love books, but sometimes i will go to a nearby Family Christian Stores, or Barnes and Noble, and look through all the stuff they have their. Though going there too often can get boring because they dont have enough new stuff.

Anyway, oh yea, and u could always pick up the new hobbie thing. U would be suprised what 'how to' books u can find at the library to rent for free. I picked up a 'computer programming for dummies' book, and am reading and working through that one. Its quite interesting, besides the author making a couple comments i didnt like. But other than that, its pretty imformative. ;)

Hope this helped/helps. ;)

Sometimes it is not that I do not have things to do. It is that I am a bit sick of doing the same things over and over again. Sometimes, I may think that since all things are gonna burnt up, then I find it meaningless to do them. How do you people feel? Any help?

Take each day at a time and appreciate this time. Believe me, you will not always be young and where you are now. Embrace all of your life. Tired of the old stuff... be creative and write a story or poem or try drawing...Take cooking classes or take Latin, Greek, Spanish language lessons or German language... French... that could be fun too. There are sooo many things that you can do to keep your mind going and learning and developing... enjoy your life is the bottom line here... don't worry about things burning up... we don't know when that time will be... no matter what, we should make the best of where we are.

I hope this is helpful....

I'd like to learn Spanish, but have no time in my schedule for actual classes. Any suggestions as to good tapes or CD's to learn off of?

As far as being bored, I spend a lot of time with my horses. When it's too cold for that (like it is today) I watch TV or surf the Net. I work 48 hours a week, and find on my only day off, Saturday, that I'm more about climbing the walls because I'm not at work. Anyone else know that feeling?
