  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I remember those days. Best advice I can give you is this: you will be so glad you did it but you will never want to go through it again.

I really envy you being able to experience that unbelievable feeling of accomplishment that you feel when you're done. Thanks for your service and good luck.

Just some general info... In the Army is Basic Combat Training or BCT not Boot Camp. Also I wouldn't plan on having a ton of time to write anyone you will be plenty busy.
Lol we still call it boot camp....

Basics was great fun (in a nefarious sort of way) an unforgettable experience that no one else will ever believe (unless you have been through it yourself), but never again please ;) ).

Time to write? Mmmm. Well that's an ethereal mystery that doesn't exist - you wake up in the dark and you go to bed in the dark - unless you are preparing for inspection (then bed is not on the cards). One is dog-tired. Two memories...

Memory one: One guy was so tired, went to bed very early (22:00). The guys cranked his alarm clock forward to 4:00 (roll call at 4:15), waking him saying, "Hey it's time to get up - roll call) ... Bit of a cruel trick, but it worked because you sleep tired, wake tired.:)

Memory two: In my day was still the last of metal helmets (with plasitic inner). They were as heavy as sin. Seated in a hot afternoon sun in a droaning lecture on eg. Military hygiene in a Temporary Base. A guy sitting at the back nods off, and head with helmet being off-centre, goes all the way to ground - boots and legs to follow! :D

Stay positive all the time. Do your best - the other guys will work with you. You will be amazed at the "before and after" of what you can't do, but will be able to do.
