I'm looking for the history after the Apostle Paul and before there was a Roman Catholic Church. I'm looking for church history and stories about early Christians. Story like the story of Photini, etc.

For general church history, try Henry Chadwick. I also like JND Kelly. Both are Protestant (I think), but they do a fairly good job.

I agree with Philip's recommendations.
I would also recommend the oldest Church history that we have (written in the early 4th century): Eusebius' Ecclesiastical History.
The edition I have is hardbound and by Hendrickson Publishers, P.O. Box 3473, Peabody, MA 01961-3473. The translation from the Greek was done by C.F. Cruse and is very readable.
I have also seen it in Borders Books in paperback.
You might be able to find it at Amazon.com.

I would particularly recommend any of the titles by John Meyendorff or Aristeides Papadakis.
They also have books on tons of other subjects as well, not just church history. Have a look around
