Hey guys, I've been getting into Bob Dylan recently. Any fans out there that can recommend which albums I should get first (no greatest hits please)? Or I guess you can just gush about how great he is....whatever you want. But I would like some advice on how to start a BD collection.

Personally I like his gospel albums particularly Saved and my favorite Slow Train Coming.
It's similar to a best of album but another one I like is Bob Dylan Unplugged from MTV's old show where they had great musicians play music without any electrical music. I also suggest the book Restless Pilgrim which is a biography of Bob Dylan emphasizing how different religious views he had at different times affected his music.

from what i hear, "blood on the tracks" and "blonde on blonde" are his best. i had "blood.." for a while, it was pretty good, but i had to sell it when i was really broke.

i would recomend those albums. His best song, I believe, is "girl from the north country" though im not sure what album it is on.
