According to BLM leader Shaun King, icons of Jesus should look like this:
EbKKJaDXQAAdun4

The BLM movement is profoundly un Christian and un Orthodox. For Orthodox believers it is entirely untenable to support the movement but disagree with those leading the movement.

Bait.

He's posting this to confirm his own worldview and to get media attention. Don't bite it.

Or maybe he's a terrorist? And BLM is actually a terrorist organization, in it's infancy, and we're beginning to see the signs..?

"Yes.

All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down.

They are a gross form white supremacy.

Created as tools of oppression.
Racist propaganda.

They should all come down
." ~ Shaun King

...He doesn't even sound Christian, yet he wants to destroy Church properties and windows.

Surely as Christians we've had enough of the white Jesus, black Jesus and any other Jesus. If people really need to have an icon of Jesus maybe it should be one described in Rev 19:12 + 13

"His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dripped in blood: and his name is called the word of God"

Perhaps you are unaware, but you are posting in an Orthodox forum.

That's an allegory, not an actual description.

It puts the point across though. If we have an icon of Christ as in physical form some could be easily lead to fall down and worship the icon. Look as what has happened with these icons and statues over the centuries, we've had a white Jesus, there is a black Jesus also, a white virgin mary and a black virgin mary.

Jesus should look like a Palestinian Jew, because that's what He is.

and I don't think he has spoken to all the artists to know which were made as racist propaganda, and which came out of a Renaissance style of artwork.

He looks a bit worried. Reminds me of Colombo for some reason.

Speaking as a Protestant, while I do not use icons, statues etc in worship etc I also recognise that they are part of our culture heritage and as Army Matt has implied where produced by artist who were responding to there prejudice etc.

The BLM movement needs to be challenged over itß methods and as to how this campaign that focuses on racialism is doing nothing about the black lives being lost by the biggest killer, other blacks.

I remember the first time I saw that picture. It was part of a set of "this is what historical persons might have looked like". Most of them were drawn quite nicely, with an exception of that clueless-looking depiction of Jesus. Initially I was offended. Then I decided that it revealed more about the artist than anything else.

He did not mention icons.

"Murals" include a whole lot of icons. Its a distinction without a difference if that mural has a frame around it or is painted on wood rather than the wall. There is no way to read that charitably to suggest that he would not include icons in his fulmination.
Also, he is not a leader of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Not true. He is a "notable Black Lives Matter activist" according to Wikipedia, and "part of the broader Black Lives Matter movement" though "not affiliated with the formal organization". Unless the formal organisation distances itself from him, which they haven't done, they own him. It doesn't matter that he gets his paycheck from Harvard.

Shaun King is a shameless grifter that nobody likes who always finds a way to insert himself into the conversation. Every actual activist hates him. He did start out with somewhat of a point: those images that make Jesus look Danish rather than Mediterranean are a bit silly. Some of the ones made in the 19th and 20th century were done with that intention. But for the most part, this is just silliness. Please ignore or mock Shaun King.

If I remember, it wasn't exactly an artist who made the image. It was more of a forensic recreation from a skull from that era.
Skulls alone don't have vacant facial expressions; that's an artist at work.
