Has the cross that Jesus bore become bling to Christian's? For people who do wear them, are they saying they're Christian? Or something else.

It depends entirely upon the attitude of the individual involved. The only jewelry I wear is a wedding ring and the only reason I wear it is to declare to the world that I am married and to reassure my wife that I am committed to that marriage. I can think of no other reason that would cause me to wear jewelry. My behavior around others should be such that it would make others aware that I am a Christian without carrying around some sign to advertise the fact. Additionally if I am remiss in behaving well people might mistakenly think that Christians are normally badly behaved if I am advertising my Christianity by wearing bling. Being a Christian ought not be something we wear but something we are.

I’m a more than words kind of girl. Symbols and talk is nice. But people are swayed by what they see and experience far more than the things we say or wear.

I believe our words and the tone we use are very important.

Leviticus 19:11
