  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There's no such THING as "Blind Faith" - Heb 11:1 defines Biblical FAITH as having TWO attributes:

It's a SUBSTANCE of what you hope for
It's an EVIDENCE of what you don't see.

"Blind Faith" has neither, and isn't "Faith at all. PROBABLY "Intellectual assent", HOPE, or frequently "Presumption".

BIBLICAL FAITH is always based on God's WORD to you.

Simple as that.

Ever heard that term?

What do you think?

Is there such a "thing" as "blind faith?

I know what I think.

I would like to know what others think.

I can give you 2 explanations, i hope it will enrich each others:

#1 Mark 11:24
New International Version
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

in summary: blind faith is faith without applying Mark 11:24

#2 blind faith is a term,
It is used by somebody that has sunk the water expecting JESUS to help like JESUS helped peter. But of course this "unlucky guy" drown and bitter and then summon logic to separate between blind faith and not blind faith.

The problem with "unlucky guy" is this guy didn't put into heart or believe what he prayed

True.

Faith begins where the word (will) of God is known.

Faith is built on the known will of God

Allow me to fix some understandings :D

Faith or fear are believe system. It does not have to do with GOD.
Believe system start with mind, and whatever in mind will resonate.
If you think good things, good things will resonate and it will come to you.
If you think bad things, bad things will resonate and it will come to you.

That's why for somebody who want to have soulmate and keep focusing on lacking (aka things bad things), he / she will not get the soulmate. Only when suddenly he / she stops looking, then he / she become positive and suddenly the right guy / gal come.

like kenneth copeland say, we have to believe that believe system will work. I did not say we should not believe in GOD. We have to believe in GOD, and trinity concept and all things charismatics / WOF preacher say, but we cannot denying that believing system does not work.

Up to this point, i assumed you believe that believe system works. So you have to believe that faith / fear will work. This is a must. You have to believe that faith / fear will work because believe system will works. Your mind resonates based on your belief systems and it will bring faith / fear.

Take a look at hebrew 11:1
Hebrews 11:1Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

does Hebrews 11:1 mention about GOD ? about JESUS ? no right ? Hebrew 11:1 does not mention GOD or JESUS at all... Hebrew 11:1 mention a good belief system called faith. and GOD wants Christians to use a good belief system called faith unto GOD.

Remember it begin with your mind to decide belief system works or not. Why i mention this, because science cannot measure love, nor cannot measure believe system. Therefore many rational individual does not believe in believe systems and choose to abide to scientific measures.

If you abide to measurements, that it's not a believe system. It's not faith / fear at all. To make it worse, it will be a fear, because we afraid what we cannot measure right ? then fear will resonate in yourlife.

When a person becomes a new person in Christ, then the things he asks for are in line with his Christlike thinking. He thinks as Christ thinks. Therefore he would ask for the things that Christ would ask of His Father. The guy that sank into the water was not thinking as Christ would think. Peter walked on the water only after he had asked the Lord about it, and the Lord had said, "Come." This guy did not wait for the Lord's word, "Come", and so he went into the water on his own without Christ. Blind faith is trusting in anything outside of Christ. He may help a person because of Grace, but there are no guarantees.
