First the liberalizing Church Growth Movement, in this case the Ablaze movement,

Which is basically dead in the water...

then the demand for ordaining women.

This will never happen. The synod would disintegrate.

I thought of this thread while I was sitting in church on Christmas Day morning. I was at my daughter's WELS church. They had a processional cross, some Latin liturgy, and Holy Communion.....interestingly, the local LCMS church had a sign out front that said "no Christmas Day services." I felt badly for that congregation.

We don't normally have Christmas Day services here. (No one would come.) But this year since Christmas Day was on a Sunday, and I don't cancel Sunday services, we had a Christmas Day service. Had a handful of folks here.

We have Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Christmas Eve is generally the busy service, Christmas day service though is usually less than 20 (we average about 80 on a typical Sunday)
