K, couple of things. I have only read about 2 of the manga from beyond episode 141. If you take out 141, what do you miss? You really don't miss anything. But whatever.

Anyway, when are we going to figure out details about Ichigo's dad? That's bugging me.

So last time, Chad, Orihime, Ichigo, and Uryuu went into soul society to rescue Rukia. The ulterior motive of Urahara was for Ichigo to preserve the thingamajig hidden in Rukia at the time. If not for that, He would not have permitted Ichigo and crew to use the gate, nor lended Yoruichi to the gang either. This time, what does Urahara gain by letting Ichigo, Chad, and Uryuu go and rescue Orihime? Is it just because he thinks that is his fault that she has been captured? That can't be the only reason.

And lastly, why did Ichigo have to turn emo? I really hated it when he went through this stage right before he went to the Vizard to fight his innerhollow.

Maybe Urahara believes Aizen is planning something bigger by using Orihime.....That, and he may feel guilty about using Ichigo and company's lives hust to preserve a mistake he made (the Orb of Distortion). But, if that were true, then wouldn't Urahara go with them instead of Renji?

I dunno, just speculation. Or maybe Urahara is planning something we don't know about.

I still don't understand why Tosen and Ichimaru are with Aizen....Aren't they expendable? It doesn't seem like Ichimaru can fight (he nearly lost in his fight with Hitsugaya--if he hadn't have aimed for Momo, Hitsugaya would've killed him easily with bankai) and Tosen lost to Kenny (although his Bankai might be more powerful against someone who isn't totally insane like Zaraki )

I could understand Aizen creating the Arrancar on his own, but it doesn't make sense to me why he uses Ichimaru and Tosen--maybe he believes that Hollowfication is more powerful than Shinigamification, and plans to use Ichimaru and Tosen later.

Gin has only ever used shikai. So I don't think it's quite accurate to say that he would've been killed in that situation.

In a way you could argue either way. Ichigo's vizard form is rather weak in comparison to the others - and he only uses it while his bankai is active, while the others use their's without releasing period (out of the ones they've showed using their masks, anyway - the only one that might have released as well is Kensei; I know he released, but I don't know if the mask was involved). So it highly depends on the circumstances, I believe. And who's to say Aizen, Ichimaru, and Tosen haven't already undergone the process themselves?

I have my doubts about Urahara as well - I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it turned out he had gained those powers also.

The thing is, it's highly stressed that Shinigami can't intrinsically handle the hollow powers and have to beat them into submission, always teetering between the two. This may in reality cause a power boost compared to the Arrancar, but it's not really been specified that Arrancar have any problems whatsoever with the Shinigami powers they have (and it certainly doesn't seem like they have too much in the way of a conscience, sense of justice, or honor, save for Nel - who also makes mention of the transformation having given them back reason, or something along those lines). So in a way, Arrancar are, as far as has been revealed, the more 'stable' of the two types - which simply makes it a numbers game as long as the loyalty to the cause is there.

He seems to have some value in them, as he would punish Grimmjow even though Kaname cut off his arm. The series is getting good now that Ishida and Sado are actually gonna be important.. (Fillers don't like those two..)

I'm not sure, either, since Aizen, Ichimaru, and Tosen haven't battled since Soul Society. They may have undergone the process, and have Hollow masks....I wonder what Gin's would look like? Perhaps his and Tosen's would have no eye holes

I bet as soon as they escaped to Hueco Mundo, Aizen experimented on himself to see if he could gain Hollow powers.

There are currently 147 episodes (and the show is still running), but only the first 53 of them have been dubbed into English. The show is on hiatus on Cartoon Network. If you want to see the episodes after 53, you have to track down fansubs right now or wait until Viz gets 53+ out on DVD.

I don't recommend watching episodes 64-109 and episodes 128-137 as they're filler and will either A) make you lose all respect for the series (episodes 64-109) or B) annoy the crap out of you (episodes 128-137), or both. Episode 147 is also filler, and I don't know how long they plan to remain in filler episodes this time around.

Either that, or eschew the anime and read the manga - no filler, and much farther ahead.

The infiltration of hoco mundo is exactly like invading soul society. Before, Hanataro helped Ichigo and Gangu into the prison ward, and now Nel is helping The crew into las noches (spanish for "the nights")

These new episodes will never be as good as the soul society saga. That's because that the episodes were fast then. Ishida and orihime vs that giant 4th seat projectile master took 1/3 an episode. Same goes for Chad vs the captin. But now, they are stretching the manga so much that things are just slow now. The first fight in hoco mundo could have been done much more efficiently than it did. They stretched it to cover more than an episode. Oh well.
