Do laws against slander and libel deny the right to free speech?
In order to be considered slander and libel, statements have to be
1. Demonstrably untrue
2. Proven to be maliciously intended
3. Proven to be damaging to the victim's public image.
Blasphemy has never and will never pass the first portion litmus test. Ergo, it has never been nor will ever be slander/libel.
Of course they do. I know where this is going, but as a courtesy to you I'll wait for you to make your point. That's nice. Now, back to my question: do laws against libel and slander deny free speech?
Of course they do.
How?
They invoke legal penalties on false speech, thereby restricting it.
Pardon? I presented a current legal state. How do you extrapolate a position from that and then attribute it to me?So then, you believe that we have the right to slander others? What is the basis for that right?

How was I complaining? They do deny free speech. I'm quite alright with that. You complained that laws against slander and libel deny free speech.
I never stated that they were.I'm just asking you where you got the idea that slander and libel are protected under the right to free speech.

So, if they're not a part of the right to free speech, how can they be denied?
Laws against slander and libel deny free speech, not "the right to free speech"
If they don't have a right to free speech, then no speech has been denied. You cannot deny something that does not exist.
Ah, but many hard-line Islamic nations have such laws on the books, and most of them have tough agencies dedicated to enforcing those laws.
Not sure if God is doing it that way, but it looks like Allah is.

and i assert EVERYONE EVERYWHERE has the right to free speech, even if the government has not recognized that right.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
No, there should be no blasphemy laws.Should blasphemy be a crime punishable by law?
Can't shoot or blow up GOD. Prove to me HE doesn't exist.
