  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you remember the first time you heared Black Sabbath? What was your first reaction?

I remember hearing Paranoid and thinking "great riff"....and some mates from school got a band together and that was one of their set pieces

What was your first Black Sabbath album?

Mine was 'sold our souls for rock and roll'
It was so cool, not a bad track on it.It was a double album, I bought it on tape and went spare when my tape machine ate it!!
Great tunes and a real good singer in Ozzy.I still think he was made for Sabbath.
I bought the Greatest hits thing, good compo, just sad to see it didn't have changes on it,I love that song.
I bought the dvd,the one with the interviews, which were fantastic and hillarious in places (pioneers, wagon train, history channel,I hate you )superb!
I was really amazed at the drums and bass playing seeing as I spent like 25 years listening to the gtr and vocals, what an amazing drummer,Mr Bill Ward, and what a tremendously powerful bass player our 'Geezer' is.They just blow me away!
The other thing I realised is how really close to blues there first 5-6 albums are.
There is Black Sabbath , Rush, and Led Zeppelin (mid 70s classic rocks greatest trio) I have to say I was into Sabbath even before the other two, they were a nice off-set to my addiction for Queen music.

Yeah must have been Paranoid, the first song I heard, and it is a great riff, that was also my first Sabbath album, yup Ozzy was great with them, but he also did some really good stuff solo, especially when Randy Rhoads was still around

The first time I heard Black Sabbath I gave up country music right then and there. I was delivered.

I still like old sabbath... ozzy is da man! :)

you're never too old to rock out on 80's metal, big hair bands. :D

Their self-titled debut as well as their 2nd album, Paranoid, was put out in 1970 ;)
