But in order to warn them of its dangers, first the people who are considering it need to actually have a Christian background!
We're dealing with a largely secular or agnostic, cynical, skeptical, angry culture that is quite rebellious. Most teenagers have lousy parents in this country. They're fed up with it, too. Many have no direction or live in a world of drugs, "hook-ups" and text-messaging being their holy trinity.
If Christianity is being "sober," and they don't know Christianity anyway, then trying the "black mass" isn't a drug for them. It's just another cool, anti-establishment, tick off the conservatives and traditionalists iconoclastic hijinx for them. It's just silly and playful to them.
We can't warn them until they realize the GOOD guys are Christians!
I was raised mainly around atheists. So, I didn't know about the harm the occult can do to you. Although, I was young when exposed to the occult, it would of been nice if someone had given me the other side of the coin--praying to Jesus for help. I had to battle the after-effects of being exposed to the occult on my own--awful! It is much easier to deal with when you're leaning on/believing in Jesus. Don't assume that just because someone's involved in the occult, that they're doing it because they think it's the greatest thing. They might be doing it blindly and would gladly go toward Jesus if shown the way.
