Yes, I pointed that out. Jim Burroway at BTB went and researched the sources used for that paper. It's pretty bad. He used Agnew's paper which talked about the insertion of foreign objects (e.g. not penile-anal intercourse, but other foreign objects) to suggest that this has to do with homosexuals. Another study he cited said that STD's are "strongly correlated to sexual lifestyle," and presented statistics. He neglected to mention that they were for a single STD clinic from male patients in Copenhagen, over a seven month period. Only 365 patients were covered. By the most conservative estimates, there are 3 million gays and lesbians in the United States, and by the more reasonable ones, there are 12 million to 18 million. I somehow doubt 365 patients from a single town from a single STD clinic in Denmark are representative of homosexuals, especially when there is no reason to believe that all of these men were, in fact, homosexuals. When he talks about the "trauma" that can result from anal-penile sex, he draws from resources that talk about sexual assault, not sex. What's more, he's often talking about heterosexual injuries, but pretending that the papers that he references are exclusively dealing with homosexuals.Mumei,
I just finished reading that article you posted about anal sex. Specifically, the article indicates numerous injuries, diseases, and infections homosexuals recieve due to anal sex. After several lengthy and medically detailed paragraphs, which appear to me to be nothing more than a thinly veiled gay-bashing article, the author then goes on to say"Consensual penile-anal intercourse can be performed safely provided there is adequate lubrication. Few anorectal problems and no evidence of anal-sphincter dysfunction are found in heterosexual women who have anal-receptive intercourse."
Does anyone take this guy seriously? I lol'ed irl @ this article. It's a shame that people can't read between the lines when it comes to crap like this.
He also had a paper referenced in his bibliography about "Delayed death from 'fisting'." It would have been nice if we had been told that that particular case was from a heterosexual woman dying after engaging in the practice with her husband.
Absolutely amazing.
