What's there to be concerned about? He's saying that he'll stand by those who he knows are being persecuted. Sounds like a good thing to me.
He needs to stop all the wars now!..

We are persecuting the Muslims big time.

You and I both know that's not what he meant, so stop. He's saying that he dislike the tide of ill-will toward those of Arabic descent after 9/11, and hopes it never comes to an internment situation like it did in the 1940's with those of Japanese descent.

This is the same quote I posted from Yahoo.
------------------------------

However, you "Win"!
Yes, my quote was paraphrased for impact.
Also, not all Arabs or Pakistani people are Muslim.
They are few and far between, for sure, especially these days.

Still concerned with the statement.

paraphrased and taken out of context.

Here are some fine quotes:
“Islam, as practiced by the vast majority of people, is a peaceful religion, a religion that respects others.”
"America rejects bigotry. We reject every act of hatred against people of Arab background or Muslim faith America values and welcomes peaceful people of all faiths -- Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu and many others. Every faith is practiced and protected here, because we are one country. Every immigrant can be fully and equally American
because we're one country. Race and color should not divide us, because America is one country."

"I have assured His Majesty that our war is against evil, not against Islam. There are thousands of Muslims who proudly call themselves Americans, and they know what I know -- that the Muslim faith is based upon peace and love and compassion.

I know what he meant in your interpretive context, what I don't know is what his context was.

So far, we have a confirmatiom from you that he would side with the Japanese during war time. ;)

No, he's saying he'd side with those wrongfully interned.

You know, Herbert, I'm starting to notice a pattern with you posts. Someone posts a quote that makes sense in context. You then remove a snippet of the quote and twist it to prove some strange logic. When called on that, you twist another quote to prove your previous one, and so on and so forth. As for Islam wanting to kill you, most of it doesn't. Only the Fundie bits. Just like how the WBC and the KKK do not speak for all Christians, al-Qaida does not speak for all Muslims.

Being born in the US to a citizen of the US, he became a citizen of the US at birth. That is the most plausible interpretation of "Natural born citizen".
What do you make of this Olbetang?

I would side with those who were wrongfully interned as well. However, for us to second guess what the situation was in that day, and side with the politically correct idea of today and apply this new thought to the situation of yesterday, is less than honest.
I'm sorry if we are against an enemy that looks at you to convert or die.

The Bible had a theme of God's people to not pollute the birth of Jesus.
A lot of people who disregard the Old Testament proudly proclaim how now we as Christians are to except everyone.

Jesus never told me to except another religion.
But the New testament does not require us to exterminate the other religions. It was said to those with eyes to see and ears to hear.

In contrast to the Koran tells in it's later text to exterminate those who do not conform.

Call me the twister, but it's my own. :p

I must be pretty good...
:D

I'm a Christian "fundie" by most standards here.

Just like how the WBC and the KKK do not speak for all Christians, al-Qaida does not speak for all Muslims

What am I supposed to make of that? :o
If Mr. herbie and his wife decided to make way from Haiti on our raft, and Mrs. herbie was pregnant and we were giving birth on our raft just outside the shoreof the USA?
Does it matter if there was sand under the birth?

If it was low tide or high tide, does it matter?

:)
