  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been a part of a life group since January. A pastor and his wife (Heather) have opened up their house to about 50 guys, and 50 girls every Tuesday night.

Tonight is Heather's birthday, and we're all planning to get her a flower that means something.
Example: Sunflower - Sunny disposition.
Or, a lily for grace

Can you guys think of any flowers that could describe a great Christian woman leader?

I'm getting it in maybe a couple hours, so I need help fast.

Answers/thoughts/opinions are appreciated!

I flower with a yellow bottom and redish orange surrounding the top is called a peace flower.

They are more commonly found in tulips which happen to be my favorite flower...

If you go under google and type in flowers it will give you some other ideas too..

Hope this helped.

Here is a website where it gives the meaning of flowers. Maybe there is something here that would match what you are looking for.

Heather is a plant which has purple, or lilac or white flowers.
I actually share the same name by the way.

The meaning for Heather's purple flower is admiration, beauty, or solitude. This might be suitable for a Christian woman.

A red rose stands for the deepest amount of love and respect

A Pink Rose stands for Grace

a white rose is a friendship rose and it also stands for innocence.

  • Red: love, used to say "I love you," but also stands for courage and respect.
  • Red & White Together or White Roses with Red Edges signify unity and togetherness.
  • Pink: symbolizes grace, sophistication and elegance. Also symbolizes gentle feelings of love and friendship.
  • Dark Pink: Gratefulness and appreciation.
  • Light Pink: Admiration, sympathy
  • White: Innocence, purity, secrecy, friendship, reverence and humility.
  • Yellow: Often akin to joy and deep friendship or platonic love. In German speaking countries, however, they can mean jealousy and infidelity.
  • Yellow with red tips: Symbolizes a gesture of falling in love.
  • Orange or Coral symbolizes enthusiasm and desire
  • Burgundy: Beauty
  • Blue: Mystery
  • Green: Calm
  • Black: used to signify death (black being the color of death) often of old habits. In a positive light it signifies rebirth after death. Also, slavish devotion (as a true black rose is impossible to produce).
  • Purple: protection (paternal/maternal love)
The rose also has various supernatural and literary attributes.
  • Pale Colors:convey warmth and friendship.
  • A Dozen Roses: stand for "there are dozens of ways I care about you."
  • Two Dozen Roses: stands for the 24 hours in a day and tells that "you think about them every hour".
  • Three Dozen Roses: signify a romantic attachment unlike any other.
  • Four Dozen Roses: mean unchanging and unconditional love.
Hope these help you too.... I found them under wikipedia rose.

Thank you guys for your help! I did look up everything you told me.
I think I found a flower... after looking for nearly four hours!

It's a Cherry Blossom. It means "Spiritual beauty".

Good? Or no?

And thank you guys again! It was interesting looking at what you guys found.
