Now you know why I left during the conversion process & almost left again when I returned. The witness here can get pretty scary.

I really wasn't Bene. I just know how confused & scared converts can be. I didn't want him think it was requirement we let ourselves be raped & contemplate Mary's hymen. I mean...

Okay so I don't want to cause unneeded drama but I have a hard time believing all types of birth control is wrong. I understand the pill and hormonal birth control because they can cause miscarriages and that I do agree with, but seriously condoms aren't okay? I mean how is that any different from nfp if you practice that correctly? Your intent is NOT to have children. Sex within marriage cannot just be for procreation. If that's the case all Catholics should be celibate until they want a child. Seems a bit much. Anyways I'm just looking for some honest answers. Every Catholic marriage seriously cannot result in 12 kids just because you aren't allowed to use some sort of birth control. I understand being open to life but everyone is not equipped to deal with a large family.

I was hoping. That's why I asked for clarification. I think cmarie already knows where the RCC stands on that issue though.

A lot of women I know that had that done often end up regretting it down the road. As it sounds like Miss Shelby did as well.

Bene, some people want flowers and bubblegum in the faith life, others want the hard truth. Don't feel bad, you're being honest. Some Catholics remind me of Mormons when they witness to outsiders, giving them all of the "God loves you so much!!!!" stuff up front and keeping quiet on the strange stuff until the fish is hooked and in the boat.
