  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I either read something or watched a tv programme quite a while ago, where it was saying (if I remember rightly) that it wasn't necessarily just brainSIZE that was important, but also the amount of wrinkling or folds or something in the brain (sorry if I'm not very exact).
Anybody know anything about that?
Right, the degree of folding is important. But there's basically no difference in folding between humans and chimpanzees. Basically much of the thinking takes place on the surface of the brain, and the folding is a way of increasing that surface. Having a bigger brain does the same thing, of course, so they both have a significant effect.

Oh, right, I see..that makes sense. And I assume a chimp's brain is smaller than ours, so despite similarities of folding, and though chimps are pretty smart - we're still more intelligent than them.

Right. Our brains are basically identical in every respect, except about three to four times the volume.
