  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biggest loser on CF.....

yeah, most of the tv shows on now are just not appropriate for me to watch anymore. The DC channel is good. I sometimes watch various stations depending on the shows. But yeah, sometimes it's hard to find a good show to watch. I watch CSI:Miami off and on, and Criminal Minds, but even those shows are too much sometimes.

I really love shows like Little House on the Prairie or Reba, and even some Disney Channel shows lol That's about it.

Criminal minds = :thumbsup::thumbsup:
CSI: Miami = :o. It is my least favourite CSI.

I don't follow any particular diet plan or food mindset other than not usually eating sweets because of my sugar addiction (if I have a little bit of sweets, I want a lot). I just count calories (sparkpeople.com is great), read labels for protein & fiber & unnecessary ingredients like high fructose corn syrup. My system is working well for me.

Well, I don't eat land animals, but that has nothing to do with weight loss. I just get grossed out at the idea of eating them, knowing what I do about factory farming.

Becksy, I love meat lol I have to eat at least turkey or chicken. Although becoming a vegetarian would help me get thin, but I'd pack it on because I eat meat lol

BTW, was a fan of the original CSI, then lost interest.

Yeah, I started losing weight when I became a veggie and it is the best thing that I've done...apart from becoming a christian! But I understand :), just try and eat the good meat and not the fatty stuff :).

Yeah, I used to love the original CSI and now that Grissom has gone it isn't the same. I prefer Law and Order.

I didn't know about the bolded fact, thanks for sharing :)

:)

There is a simple test I ask people to take who doubt food combining:

Eat a common western diet meal - like steak and potatoes. The potatoe is digested in the mouth and small intestine with an enzyme called amylase, an alkaline - which breaks down starch.

The steak is digested in the stomach with the enzyme protease - an acid.

Mixing the two will partially offset the PH (measure of acid/alkaline) balance in which these two foods are digested - resulting in partial fermentation of the food the symptoms of which are gas, bloating, etc. The body can not use food that has partially rotted (the meat) or fermented (the starch)

Now if one eats a high sugar fruit very soon after this meal (such as a couple of bananas) - the result is even greater fermentation - I tried this and actually felt little explosions going on in my stomach - since fruit bypasses the stomach and is also digested in the small intestine.

I once had a heavy meal of meat and starch...and was feeling very fatigued because of it...so I decided about an hour later to follow it with a large fruit smoothie - thinking this would clean me out. Oh boy - it didn't...and I felt sooooo sick. Now I know why.

Merry Christmas to you, too!

I have lost 2 pounds since last Friday. I may gain it back (water weight, at least) tomorrow. I am baking a sweet potato pie as we speak for Christmas dinner! :)
Oh that sounds good!
I usually just have pumkin pie for Christmas. Not baked though, just store-bought. Bet it tastes better home made though.

Walked some more today, to and from college which was 6 miles. Going to go out again later. It is weird because for the whole of last week and this week I have not felt hungry.
I used to do that so much when I lived further away from work. I've been spoiled so much, I think in the summer I need to get a place further away...Need those 2 hour walks again.

You don't need to do that. Just go on a 2 hour walk now and see where you end up! That is what I do sometimes!
