  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biggest loser on CF.....

I've been sick for about 3 weeks now, but I went back to the gym on Friday. I had cancelled my last 2 personal training appointments and hadn't been to the gym in 2 weeks. So I went Friday, did legs and abs. Went Saturday, did shoulders and back and then took a 45 minute step abs class, Sunday no gym had to do laundry and stuff at home, plus it was Easter. Monday, went to the gym and did my Bi,Tri and chest but no cardio, cuz I had to go to Bible Study. Tonight I am going to the gym (and every other night this week except maybe Wed). I've only lost 3 pounds since the 1st of the year and I also hate the "your building muscle and losing fat" comments but I have lost about 5 percent body fat (even though my body fat is still too high) and about 9 inches overall (just not in the places I would like to) Sooo, I dunno. I think I'm on the right track, but my progress is not fast enough for me and that is discouraging. I know I am not over-eating, but I think I am not eating enough, but I am afraid to eat more, because I want to lose weight not gain it. I know my mind isn't working right on this, but :sigh:

Thanks for listening.

I had kenpo class and I walked home from there so I did about 2 hours of walking instead of 20 minutes of running yesterday..though I also practiced the kip up..(I suck at it when I'm not on the mat..) and my kicks at home.. ate dr. pepper and subway sandwich.. does that count as fast food? XD

I've lost a pound and a half. I bought 90 calorie granola bars to help me resist the chocolate/cookies that are constantly in my office. It seems to be helping. :)

Natural/Organic Peanut Butter, assuming you're not alergic to peanuts,is (imo) one of the best crave killers there is.

It's got a good amount of unsaturated fat and protein plus some carbs, so your body feels full after eating it, and (iirc) a serving only has 190 cals, so it's not enough to derail your diet.

Well, it's better than cookies and stuff.

Also, I'd avoid Jiff, Skippy, etc. because those are mostly hydrogonated oils.

And brushing your teeth/tounge helps too. Not sure if it's the flouride or the brushing itself or both, but it satisfies the taste buds, so you eat less if you brush after every meal.

...and your breaf smells better too.

Good to know. I'll dip a couple of apple slices, too - for some fiber.

I chew sugar-free gum to help satisfy the sweet craving, too. And frozen grapes are a yummy "sweet" treat. :yum:

I had salad instead of a burger at lunch. GO SARA, GO SARA, GO!

I did eat a snickers almond bar though. :(
No frownie faces allowed! Instead of looking at it like failure - look at it like you won half the battle. You could have had the burger AND the snickers bar.

Have you done any walking?

I love organic peanut butter. I use apple slices, too! I get my PB locally, and it's super fresh and delicious. They don't add any oil, either. Just peanuts and love :D

I'm sort of sleep deprived after the whole ICU and funeral thing, so my attempts to go to bed early so that I'll get up early and run have only resulted in me snuggling deeper into my blankets and hitting the snooze button. :sorry:

I've done some minor weight and strength training every day, though. I've also been doing things like parking in the farthest region of the parking lot when I go to class, the store, work, etc. Every time I'm in a certain house I have to go up or down stairs, I run up/down about five times. I'm trying to cram it in where I can! lol

OOH! I got my new eating plan book in the mail today, and I'm super excited about starting their Fat Flush plan.

 Yay to everyone who's doing such a good job! Tink don't let one little slip up get you down. It's about changing a lifestyle as a whole, and it doesn't happen overnight. If you make good decisions every time you can bear to, you'll phase out more and more of the stuff you don't want to be eating. Just think of each healthy choice as one more step towards where you want to be.
