I don't like mixed drinks, so that's out of the question.

Wine is better for you, healthwise...specifically red wine.
A glass of whine and a 12oz are both one drink and have the same alcohol content. 7 calories per gram in alcohol.
Both have a lot of carbohydrates. I would say they are probably similar when it comes to weight. Now, many doctors will tell you wine offers a lot of other health benefits. Not sure I agree, but oh well.
As long as you are consuming in moderation, I don't think there is going to be a huge difference in the two.

One word of caution though, and I speak from experience. DO NOT DRINK GUINNESS DURING A WORKOUT. Not even on St. Patty's Day.
