The U.S. reportedly wants to launch a carbon credit program to tap the might of the world’s largest companies to fund a transition off coal, especially, but also oil and gas in developing countries. The financing would help those nations switch to alternatives such as wind, solar, hydrogen and other energy options.

why does the thought of "one world order" come to mind. That man needs to get a real job before he is successful in causing some serious problems.

If he keeps raising corporate taxes, they might not have enough to fund more efficient research, development and production. They might move to Ireland or some place. Inflation might rise. He is worth millions. I don’t think he has solar cells on the roof of his big house. He may want someone else to pay. He is not yet worth $50 million.

So since China is classified as a developing county that would mean we will be paying China to move away from coal which is something they have no intention of doing, what a smart idea, give China money from our tax payers.

Vietnam will get money too, they have been particularly treacherous in their dealings with the United States as well as their persecution of minorities.

The developed nations can not afford to switch from coal to wind, solar and hydrogen. The undeveloped nations are less likely to get funding for such.

Global coal consumption reached a new high in 2022. They seem to be switching towards coal.
Report: World's coal use creeps to new high in 2022

Biden has not be able to switch the world away from coal. ESG conscious Germany is strip mining lignite coal to try to reduce their energy bills. Switching to green hydrogen is a fantasy few can afford. I expect global warming, hurricanes, heat waves, drought and forest fires will worsen, and I do not like it. Population growth is drawing down fresh water reservoirs and aquifers.
