Is there a trinity or is god a triune god (3)?

You decide and ponder this;

"Jesus is the Son of the Holy Ghost"
Matthew1:20
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

"Jesus is the Son of the Father"
2 John3
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

When God the Father is the Holy Ghost who gave HIS begotten Son Jesus too die for us. Only a brain washed person from birth would claim the "Father Son and Holy Ghost" are three persons.

Clearly in SCRIPTURES the Father is the Holy Ghost, for God is a Spirit.

Bro Tim.

I'm not sure what your post is asking or suggesting. Are you suggesting that there are two instead of three? Are you suggesting modalism instead of trinity?

I believe that they are all personages of spirit. Christ was human, so He had a human body, but the spirit of God resided in Him making him God, also. I believe that there are three because the purpose of each one is different. The main difference I see between God the Father and God the Holy Spirit is that the Father is the part of God that is vast and immense, created all things, set all things in motion, etc. God the Holy Spirit is that part of God that dwells within us, showing us the way to live, guides us to the good, etc. It is the part that interacts with us. But whether trinity or modalism, I believe in three.

So, I don't believe that the scriptures clearly demonstrate that God the Father is God the Holy Spirit. I think it clearly demonstrates that God the Father, through God the Holy Spirit, conceived Jesus in Mary's womb.

If you do not hold to this Creed (let alone the Nicene or Apostle's), you are not a Christian.
Not to be nit picky but I don't believe Paul or Peter held those creeds. So you might want to rephrase that last statement?

And if you believe the owner's manual to your automobile, that makes you a car.

Isn't Christianity fun?

So you believe in a "binity", God the Father and God the Son. You never "proved" that Jesus is the Father or the Father is the son.
I don't like the fact that you call my God brainwashed, Jesus said "In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
I thought that you had to believe in the Nicene Creed to post here.

Sts. Peter and Paul were Trinitarians already however and were before the Creeds.
See that's where the part of the problem lies: there were several hudred years before the doctrine of the trinity was accepted by the Church at large and still to this day there are some who don't accept it. Now don't get me wrong I do accept the trinity but my salvation isn't based on my accepting it. All of this comes after you are saved. And frankly I am unwilling to cut off any member of the body of Christ on a doctrine that is in a lot of cases simply a different way of saying the same thing. (IMHO)

Who are you or anyone else for that matter to state that if one does not hold up a man-made creed that they are not a Christian?

Guess by your standard im not a Christian and for that im pretty darn proud. I study the Bible, I follow it and I believe that Christ is the Messiah, along with God the Father of course, but I dont adhere to your stupid creed nor what anyone else states that I should do. I find it thoroughly insulting that you would have the audacity to say something like that. We are to follow God, not man.

1. The Church was given authority by God the Holy Spirit
2. The Church "codified" its official doctrines and positions in the Ecumenical Councils. The Nicene Creed (more officially called the Nicene-Constantinoplean Creed) was a product (along with the Creed of St. Athanasius).

If the Holy Spirit inspires and authorizes the Church, and the Church says that the Trinity is Truth, then it most certainly is.

Church is: a group of people who got together and decided to define God as XYZ or ABC or LMNO.

However, despite the difficulties in having churches that do not all agree (and no one ever always agrees with everyone else, just look at the trouble the disciples gave Jesus with their bickering) church is very important. It's a place to recharge your spiritual batteries, take in new information from and about God to get you thinkin' and growin', and also for things that could not be accomplished by individuals to be done by a group. (Like running a shelter or after school program, or just reroofing an elderly person's house before the snow flies.)

You evidently never heard of the Reformation. Odd, considering that is how your Anglican Church came into being.

1. You mustn't yourself know much about the Reformation; they all considered themselves to be the continuation of the Church (many are still Churches in the Truest sense).
2. You obviously haven't a clue on Anglicanism, since the Anglican Church was the Catholic Church in England. Do a little historical research please before you tell me about my own Church please.
