can anyone show me where in the bible it says they ate or drank anything when they fasted I found where it said they ate and drank nothing moses, ninevah and a nother I cant remember exactly right now.

Not sure I understand the question here... are you aking for an instance in the Bible where someone fasted but allowed themselves some food or water (IE, lent, etc)?

If so, I'm not sure but I can't remember any fasts that were not complete (water but no food, no food and no water).

Why are you asking?

Does Isaiah help you?

Isaiah 58:1-9 - Passage Lookup - New International Version, ©2010 - BibleGateway.com
Isaiah 58

True Fasting

1 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back.
Raise your voice like a trumpet.
Declare to my people their rebellion
and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.
2 For day after day they seek me out;
they seem eager to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that does what is right
and has not forsaken the commands of its God.
They ask me for just decisions
and seem eager for God to come near them.
3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,
‘and you have not seen it?
Why have we humbled ourselves,
and you have not noticed?’
“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please
and exploit all your workers.
4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,
and in striking each other with wicked fists.
You cannot fast as you do today
and expect your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,
only a day for people to humble themselves?
Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed
and for lying in sackcloth and ashes?
Is that what you call a fast,
a day acceptable to the LORD?

6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

I interpret this passage to tell me how to fast (worship) as follows:

- Do not fast and then immediately behave the way I did before, with quarreling and strife; be changed
- Humble myself always, not just when I fast/worship
- Do not exploit anyone; loose the chains of injustice
- Care for the poor, homeless, hungry -- Share my food! Don't go without, but give up whatever I can for others
- BE the light of God. Show the world what a Christian is meant to be, through my actions. Service is a form of worship/fasting. - God will protect me as I go, if this is what I doBeing a Christian is so simple. And so difficult. This is what we are called to do. Its not about food and drink. Its about caring for others who need food, drink, clothing, shelter and LOVE more than we do.

Christian fasting - what does the Bible say?

As the above link will explain, Christians are not commanded to fast, so there isn't any direct commands or rules to it. If and when you fast it will be a matter of preference.

That said for me fasting has always yielded amazing spiritual change/revelation.

Also do not limit your fasting to food and or drink. Fasting should be about devoting your day to God. One of the reasons The Jews were originally commanded to fast, because the perpetration of food was the most time consuming part of anyone's day. Today our various media sources have taken that role in our lives. Reclaim that time and give it to God, and may He bless your efforts.
