Yes. The daily cross is every time we encounter something that we don't like or cuts across self will. There is an initial consecration that all Christians should experience. We ask Lord Jesus to be Lord in our experience. Then the Lord will show us how real that consecration is. Often, we find areas of life that we have yet to surrender. Every time we surrender something we lose a little more of self. That means we gain a little more of Jesus in experience. We have all that we will ever have because we have Christ. He shines within us. Self is a little like x-ray films that hinder the light. Every time we let go of an aspect of self, a film is removed and the light shines through brighter.

It may not be easy. A lot of Christians face a dilemma like the rich young ruler. God asks us to give up something that is just too precious or asks us to do something that we cannot bear to do. Lord Jesus faced that in Gethsemane. He went before us. He can get you through that challenge as well.
