  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early. (Hosea 5:15 KJV)
Who is the one speaking? Where is his place? And when did he leave it? And most importantly, what caused him to return there?
Get two right to win.

Yhwh is speaking.
His place is the temple in Jerusalem.
He left it because of the inequities of the people of Israel. They I.e. Worshipped other gods.
He will return because Israel asks God for mercy and he loves his people. (?)

Very difficult question.

Actually got my own wires crossed

What caused Yeshua to return to heaven was the events of Mt 12 ( the national rejection of his Messiahship on the basis of demon possession) but your answer as to why he returns to Israel is spot on, "you will not see me again until you say blessed are you..." They ask for mercy Hosea 6:3

Still your turn

Answer: 1 Chr 4:9-10

"9Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked" (ESV)

So, no, her name isn't mentioned.

My turn: where did Jesus meet the Samaritan woman?

So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. (John 4:5)

My question: who are the three men in the Bible who fasted for 40 days each, and when do we see them together?
