Yes, John, I was - work, then Bible teaching tonight, so late in getting this. Thanks for the start.
The Command and Invitation to Pray
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened for you. Matthew 7:7
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:1618
The Basis for Prayer
[Jesus said:] And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:1314
[Jesus said:] If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:1416
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:1415
Content of Prayer
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Philippians 4:6
How to Pray:
1. (John 16:23)
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. John 16:23
2. (Matthew 21:22; James 1:67)
And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Matthew 21:22
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
James 1:67
3. (Luke 11:13; 22:42; 1 John 5:14)
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! Luke 11:13
saying, Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done. Luke 22:42
Help in Prayer
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:2627
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Romans 8:34
Answers to Prayer
It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. Isaiah 65:24
And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:79

For whom should we pray?
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:12
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44

So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5:16
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. Acts 12:5

They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs; You make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice. Psalm 65:8
Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments. Psalm 119:164
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Daniel 6:10
