Any scripture can be used by God to help you grow in Jesus and find out how to live.

Other people will be used by God to help you with this, and then you can more and more be able to help others.

I would consider two basic things > two things to do at the same time >

Take your time to read every word from beginning to end of the Bible, so you have general familiarity with God's message. Do not trust anything in you that tries to keep you from this! Because every word of God is from His heart of love for us . . . somehow profitable to help us grow in Jesus and learn how to please God and love. But . . . like I offer > take your time, while you do this also >

Read a whole chapter or book of the New Testament, or a whole Psalm or place in Proverbs, feeding on each thing. And maybe then check out one verse or part, even with study, perhaps including discussion here with us.

Start with Genesis. You must understand the beginning.
Many Christian people are biblically illiterate to who kenites are.
In genesis chapter 3. NAGA in Hebrew means =, to touch, beguiled.

God told Adam and eve to stay from tree of knowledge of good and evil. This is satan. Eve was beguiled, she had sexual intercourse with satan. Adam then knew his wife.

Eve had twins. Cain and abel. Cain is seed of satan. Able seed of Adam. The kenites are offspring of Cain. These are satan's children.

Documentation, first Chronicles 2:55.
1 samuel 15:6
Genesis 15:19
Numbers 24;21 to 24:23
Judges 4:11
John chapter 8:44. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father desires, . He was murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is liar and the father of lies.
Cain murdered abel. This is seed of satan. The kenites made it through Noah's flood. Get the picture.

I advise you start with genesis.
If you need help. I recommend shepherds chapel. They're on YouTube. They tell you the truth.

It's your decision.

I have made the decision to study Genesis first. I think the very foundation of creation and completion is important to understand first, then I will start my own journey through guidance from the Holy Spirit. It just feels right to get that bit right first, the rest should make more sense.

I think I’ve found comfort here in the fact it’s not necessarily about page one to the end of Revelations. I like the thought of carrying the book daily and reading certain scriptures, but I also understand the quiet need for study.

My Bible has arrived and it’s just beautiful, I’m so thrilled to have it. I held it to my chest and thanked God for the early delivery and cried saying I will never reject him again.

Here are some pics but some great surprises, notably:-

>Verse Finders reference
>Quick finger reference
>Large text
>Gold paper ends
>One Year reading plan
>Colourful maps
>Heavy and meaningful size

"Elohim" is the plural of God's name from Hebrew and the name implied here translated from Hebrew to English. The early church took this as reference to the trinitarian God, yes . . Since then came other theories to which really none hold water.

Could I have your opinion on what is going to yield a more personal and fruitful relationship with God as I start this journey to understand his word.
You're already filled with The Spirit, and that is a big plus.

Start giving The Holy Spirit the pre-eminence in your life. Ask Him about things you don't understand in His word. It is His word breathed through various holy people. It contains the very imprint of Himself behind every letter. He knows all the various understandings that His word contains and will direct you to what you needed in situations.

Start in the letters of Paul and spend a few months or more in them. Get familiar with the church teachings first, then venture over into the gospels and acts. After that start working some of the OT into your reading.

The idea is to "READ" the bible, put as much of it into you as you can. Studying does come into play, but force yourself to put the written word into you foremost. It cleanses you inside and out. Anyone who developed a communion and fellowship with The Holy Spirit and would read big sections of His word daily was always used of GOD mightily.

Don't become a walking library, become a walking revival.

ok first query

Genesis 1:26

And God said “let us make man in our image, after our likeness”

Us and our? I’m assuming this refers to the Holy Trinity?
Yes, people understand that "we" means our Father and His own Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

And God made Adam in His own image. But Adam was not obedient. He could sin, and God Himself can not do evil (James 1:13). So, though Adam was made in the image of God, he was not completely like God.

This is why we need Jesus. Jesus perfectly obeyed our Father, by going to the cross and dying for us so we may become forgiven and adopted as God's own children.

Even though God made Adam perfectly, Adam was only a creature who could fail and break down to do evil. Though Adam was in perfect surroundings(!!) - - with such a perfectly made wife, even - - they could fail and they did. So, already, then, there was the need for Jesus. No one less can do. Jesus says,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me." (in John 14:6)

Only Jesus in His obedience on the cross could get us saved from our sins and changed to become righteous like Jesus is righteous >

"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:19)

And we will not be only like Adam as a perfectly made creature, but we are destined to be changed to become like Jesus Himself >

"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29)

So, God is now changing us to become like His own Son Jesus, so that we can be Jesus Christ's "brethren" > His own family . . . not just human, though, but holy.

And being holy has to do with how God's holy love is. So, everything here has to do with God's love meaning. Genesis can help show how being even perfectly created like Adam was not enough. We need all which comes through Jesus Himself; no less can be enough. And God who is love wants us to have no less than His own best, who is Jesus.

How does genesis 1:26 prove the trinity?
As I mentioned before, Elohim is the Hebrew pluralism of God as the trinity and the name referred to from the Hebrew throughout Genesis 1. That's the word used . There are indeed other views but they don't hold credit throughout the rest of scripture as Elohim or trinity does, which hold from Genesis to Revelation as the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit are all brought up along the way.

Ok so a great start I feel

Since I’ve had my new Bible I have read Genesis and Exodus in full and here is my understanding:-

Genesis:-

The basis of Genesis is that God keeps giving us a chance, our decision making is poor without him.

We live in a good world made bad.

Hope for a wounded victor to defeat evil at its source (Is this our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?)

Gods plan is to rescue and bless this rebellious world.

Exodus:-

Exodus is the Exodus of the Israelites from bondage in Egypt

Pharaoh found threat in the Israelites so tries to destroy them

Moses is born and planted in to the Pharaoh family

Pharaohs 10 plagues as he prevented the Israelites from leaving

Moses leads the Israelites out of bondage and God parts the Red Sea. Pharaoh changes his mind and sends armies to destroy but they drown in the sea.

Moses and the Ten Commandments (Plus 52 more in respect of worship & social justice)

Israel Breaks the new covenant, Moses persuades God to not pour his wrath but to fulfil the promises to Abraham in Genesis…….God repents!

Instruction to build the Ark Of The Covenant & Tabernacle (most Holy place, referencing the garden of Eden)

God tells of his Charachter, Merciful, gracious and slow to anger but must punish the wicked

Why is Moses not allowed in to the Tabernacle at the end???

Im starting Leviticus tonight and I’m excited to do so, I can’t believe how much I am reading in a short space of time? I’m just so driven to start and finish the various books. I have now made a decision to read from start to finish, I need to hear all of Gods voice in full and then I will go back and study those passages that are relevant to me and caring for others. I believe my gift is that of counselling, caring, offering comfort. People are drawn to me in that respect, they like to talk to me with their problems etc, so I’m thinking of a new career in this, that is way beyond business and I can do my good deeds daily as a job!

You seem to have a real heart for God. And now you're in His word. Don't be surprised when He starts directing your path to certain scriptures or portions, or when something you've read over and over with no special meaning at the time gets pointed out to you almost seeming like embossed print and is an answer in your life. Or portions come to recall in certain situations. God has His hand on you or it seems so to me here in the forum messages.

Carry on !

Thank you

Some of it makes no sense and it’s challenging, going through all the rituals as an example or all of the family lines, this is where my reading struggles and my mind wonders. However I’m just compelled to read every word. Once Ive finished a book then I look for study and as others more intellectual than I, point things out then it all makes perfect sense. I’m keeping a study journal on my iPad for each book so I can go back and understand if I don’t remember.

So I have this combination…from God who compels me to read each word, to me picking up some of the points or messages, to the love of others to help me understand.

Reading Moses (I’m now on Numbers) I think I’d have been burnt in fire 10 times over in those days, it’s all very, very sobering and a huge reminder of how many light years we are as humans of being anything close to Holy.

Leviticus learning:- (the hardest read for me yet)

Moses unable to enter the Tabernacle (Gods Holy place)

Must be purified prior to entry (impurity is not sinful, it’s normal & temporary)

Done through sacrificial and burnt offerings and certain timescales when with sin

Qualifications to become a priest, highest level of moral integrity & ritual holiness (they represent both God and the people)

Priests are ordained

Israel called to live with moral purity

Moses calls for all to respect the covenant of faithfulness

Moses finishes in the Tabernacle

Main message

Despite impurity, God graciously provides a way for people to live in his presence, through rituals. Everything about God is Holy, everything around God is Holy, therefore impurity, sin, unjust cannot enter, therefore God gave a way out known as the Day Of Atonement a purification offering (a scapegoat for a symbol to remove sin)

None of us could make it back then lol ! Just remember you're reading old covenant scriptures right now. Don't beat yourself over the head with the law, only Christ could fulfill the law, which He did at the cross and over coming the grave, leading us to the new covenant ( thank God). The law always points to sin but doesn't save. Jesus is the propitiation for the revealed sin and the savior which for the most part the Jews rejected but for a few.. And thus they still try to carry on with those rituals today.

When I taught bible study I worked from the new testament and references back to the old. But if you're going to read all the way through old testament then new just take the old as information is my suggestion. Nobody can keep all 613 laws because if you break one even just in thought, you broke them all as in deed. What Jesus did for us is nothing short of a miracle that only God could pull off in the sinless sacrifice..

Ok how to make a grown man cry

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this comfort. I know I am saved through Jesus, but if you read my other posts you will see a man consumed with guilt and shame for rejecting God and worshipping sin. So reading the OT was even more frightening for me and a bit of a trigger to the huge failure I once was. Your post has alleviated my anxiety and is a big step with my relationship with God almighty. Honestly I send my absolute thanks and love to you for your guidance.

You taught Bible study!!?? You see how the wonders of our Heavenly Father works……? I am here and so are you.

God Bless you friend

David
