Allied has to really work together, and fast, to win Omaha.

First and foremost, they require someone competent behind the wheel of the ship and the guns. Someone who knows how to indirect fire them.

Second, the assault group should be just that - mostly assault type guys. Fill up those landing craft, too. First priority is, of course, take the beach flag.

One that occurs you get a tank and a jeep right there on the beach. The ship should focus it's fire on the two hilltop roads, as they will most likely have the Tiger and the Panzer there pelting the beach.

I still feel that scouts should be kept low in number - and they should be focusing on forward observing just as much as sniping. The assaulters should try to move in loose groups, supported by the Sherman. A tank or a lone assault guy stands virtually no chance cresting the hill and taking the next flag.

Once the second flag is taken, it's business as usual. Keep some forces in defense of the middle flag and the rest push on to the last flag.

Just picked up BF1942 + the Secret Weapons expansion a couple of days ago. Great game, it's a blast. I'll be on tonight if anyone wants to hook up. Name is Stanley Tweedle. I need to get Team Speak, would make communicating a ton easier.

I love the Omaha Beach map, and can beat it quite handily. (102-0)

I just grab the beach, after hopping onto the first landing craft I can find. After that, I hop in the tank and run up the back way, unopposed, to the second objective.

A couple of tank shells and a gun later, the flag is mine.

After that it gets to be a bit of a pill.. I charge up the hill in my tank, paying no head to the soldiers.. Just flatten them

When you round the corner, after the Germans magically spawn a tank, a personnel carrier and a dozen troops, blast the tank point blank. Plant a couple of shells and some machine gun fire from your alternate fire button in the middle of the troops.

Round the corner, snipe the guy in the bunker and grab the flag. Done.

Yes, singleplayer is a joke compared to multiplayer. THe AI isn't bad, but the guys just stand there for the most part. In MP, you have to deal with people as sneaky and skilled as yourself!

The guys and the AI are one and the same, aren't they, or did you mean something different?

MP is better, I agree, but I found their ground skills lacking. I found they mostly excelled in the air.. Just me though. Maybe it's just because I excel with a tank. ?

yeah, sorry - I meant that the AI played soldiers aren't that great. They stand around a lot
