  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Beware when you hear "Trust the Science!"

Many use science as church.
Foolish people, then. Scientists know better. It's just the best method we have for learning about the physical universeThen theories change.
Then theories change.
Constantly almost all of them are constantly refined. Darwin's four points remain as solid as ever, but the theory has been repeatedly been refined by discoveries in genetics, molecular biology, and other sciences.
How many meds later are found to be cancerous etc.?
You know that most chemotherapy drugs are carcinogens? The deal is, the risk is less than the potential benefit for most patients. But the pharmacies take very stringent precautions to protect the pharmacy workers.Science is study not definite.
They call it theory.
Most people don't know what "theory" means in science. An idea only qualifies as a theory after it's predictions have been repeatedly verified by eividence.

You need to pull those reigns in a bit to control those run away horses. Science is designed to know what is true or a fact and what is not. Yes of course they are subject to corruption and payola like so many people are.
SO SO very many are atheist and actually falsify findings and discount them.
Noah someone says he studied things, they disclaim it.

It's not possible etc etc

So yes, corruption even in science is highly possible.
Just say so... and keep people from the truth.
Even denying the plausible studies done proving metal or such.

Many people are going to perish. For me few means 1/3 and science is no exception. The Bible says All tongues, tribes, nations and people. All means all in the Bible and scientists are no exception to that. The difference is less believe in God. 71% for the general population and 51% for science. Although science itself is agnostic with no evidence for or against God. In real life people have to make a choice for or against. No fence sitting allowed. You are in or out. God is even more strict on who speaks for him. I think this gets down to 10% of the people actually represent and speak for God.

Revelation 1:16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

You can still be saved if you are lukewarm but you do not represent or speak for God.

Atheists say the Shroud of Turin is fake and yet their is no dye, or paint or any explanation whatsoever.
Sew confusion and people distrust the artifact, thankfully the Apostles mentioned.

Scientific research post the original resewn cloth has proven real.

Atheist scientists have a slant and they use it.
So science is not always factual.

However; the Jewish scientists with no reason to have a ball in the court, studied and found it authentic.

It was first declared to be a fraud in 1354. Three separate teams of scientists have independently tested it and all come up with dates for the fabric fibers between 1260 and 1390.

If you want to believe it's real, no problem. Just don't make an idol of it.

Examples?
Ark in Ararat mountains, chariot wheels in red sea... and some more.
Even the science in soddom and gamorrah shows plainly the sulfur flaming hot ancient ruins where no volcano exists.
When things are proven they have to state it is not true.
And it's no longer true science.

The Shroud of Turin. 3D imaging shows it is true.

Any Biblical finding and they deny it.
That's fact.
Disprove me.

Ararat mountains after the scientific finds were closed off for people after, they deny it because they want the said items yet they would disappear.
Sorry, but it stands, where there is denial there is deceit.

1354 did not in fact have tech.
NO, the finding of the material after the fire is a piece sewn on and even Jewish scientists know that.
Also they found ancient plant seedlings long gone from the time of Jesus.

So keep on following atheists scientists ... as though they do not have a horse in the race to disprove evidence.

Ark in Ararat mountains,

Creation Ministries International, hardly an organization that would be predisposed to reject evidence of Noah's Ark, seems to think it's highly dubious it's the actual ark. Answers In Genesis another organization that is hardly predisposed to reject evidence of Noah's Ark, was skeptical as well.

chariot wheels in red sea... and some more.

Not sure what this is in reference to; indeed, this is a problem in general with your examples, you are too vague with them to have any idea what is being referred to exactly. This probably comes back to Ron Wyatt's claims about finding chariot wheels in the Red Sea, so I will adress that. Ron Wyatt was a guy who claimed to have found all sorts of Bible-related discoveries including the chariot wheels, Noah's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, and even the blood of Jesus, but was very poor at actually providing any evidence for his discoveries. Even some members of his own denomination (Seventh Day Adventism) wrote an entire book named "Holy Relics or Revelation" criticizing his claims as fraudulent.

But for those who don't want to pick up a whole book (and it was written a while ago so it's not that easy to get a copy of), here's a post from Biblical Archaeology Report that views the claim very skeptically:

This cannot be dismissed as atheists taking a kneejerk reaction to something supporting Christianity. Bible Archaeology Report's about page says "The purpose of the Bible Archaeology Report is to highlight archaeological findings that demonstrate the historical reliability of the Bible".

The Bishop noted that the image seemed painted on.

NO, the finding of the material after the fire is a piece sewn on and even Jewish scientists know that.
The added material was not tested.
Also they found ancient plant seedlings long gone from the time of Jesus.
But the fabric turned out to be much more recent. This is a faith thing, and science can't fix that for you.

For me it would be more amazing if it was a fake because NO ONE can duplicate it. WE did not even understand the Shroud until photographs and negatives came out. The Shroud is a negative that we only recently developed. They were amazed at what they had when they took photos.

If is a forgery then my hat is off to them for the amazing work of art they have done that draws attention to Jesus and the resurrection.

Right now they are afraid someone will try to clone Jesus so they will not allow them to test the DNA. The American Medial journal ran an artical from forensic science experts that say the shroud is real. That of course we a very big conroversy with lots and lots of letters of protest from the doctors that read that journal.

EXACTLY.

There is no way they had the tech to be seen in modern tech.

They found AB+ blood is broken fragmented so no, cannot be cloned.

I was happy to find this paper - ‘Trust the science’? How the influence of money and AI has killed scientific integrity - with its collection of studies, which reinforced my own experience in "science" in this fallen world. It's a long read, but if you need it, read it, lest you continue to trust fallen men for what God and only God can provide.

The Liar - the father of lies - has left no institution of human beings untouched by his corrupt and corrupting hands. Truth remains here, among us; God is ever faithful. But beware of wolves even in sheep's clothing.
About six years ago, I was hearing about the problems with peer review.
Knowing the state of this I should have expected it would have gotten worse.
Since I don't follow up "the science" much, lately, I just did not give it much thought.

I notice that science has been spectacularly successful in the past few decades in learning more about biology, physics, etc. And technology has progressed amazingly, using those discoveries.

If even a significant part of it was hooey, we wouldn't be seeing all of this progress.

Results count.

It's so fantastic, there are still no cures for LDS, cancer, and many others things.
Yet people have had miracles by trust and faith without the lack of science.

Results do count, and thus our race to ... not a wonderful utopia thanks to science replacing God as the purpose and goal of human existence, but (take your pick) any one of the many horrific world-wide explosions of disaster and dictatorial dystopias that observant writers see ahead of us. Will it be a murderous human dictator - a "Big Brother" - a mysterious fictional force "Sauron" of Lord of the Rings - an AI computer that has figured out how to out-deceive its human makers, as in Terminator series - a simple complete moral collapse in society that breeds a suicide of self-worshipping heathens who will eat themselves ... many observant artists have imagined one final catastrophic horror after another seeing that this is not going to end well!

The technologies have improved technically, while applications grow in lethality to the human spirit. The hearts of men are growing colder and more self-obsessed, and the natural end for such cultures is a high-tech suicidal bloody trainwreck of (excuse the term) barbarians.

I have no problem with science.
However, that is not to say every claim of scientists is actually science.

That would be like saying every claim of clergymen is actually religion.

I am often unscientific, myself. Sometimes, that's what things require.

Scientists would tell you that would be impossible. Science can't do that at all. If your faith isn't enough, science can't help you out.

There will always be a Chicken Little. But God remains Lord.

So it was said at the dawn of the industrial revolution. And yet, wars kill fewer now than then, fewer infants die before adulthood, slavery is almost extinguished, and so on.

Not everyone thinks Mormons are an affliction. Annoying, sometimes, but most of the Mormons I know are pretty good people who seem to love God.
, cancer, and many others things.

Cancer is no longer a death sentence, but treatments still have a long way to go

Yet people have had miracles by trust and faith without the lack of science.
Miracles still happen. But modern medicine is a blessing.
