The woman who lusts and desires for gold jewelry and spends all day putting on makeup all day is in danger of idolatry. It depends on how important her makeup and her jewelry is. Let's not forget that Idolatry is not necessarily just worshipping idols in the sense that you're worshipping false gods (who does that nowadays, who calls themselves a Christian?). It can also be anything that distracts you from God; God is supposed to be first and foremost in your life, and then everything else follows after Him.

Though I will note another thing that nobody in this thread has mentioned: Paul has told us not to put a "stumbling-block" in front of others. The women who like to wear the sensual revealing clothing is doing just that for men. Men are not to lust after women; Jesus tells us that if we look at a woman and we desire to be with her, then we've already committed adultery in our hearts.

If a woman walks around with revealing clothing, showing half of her breasts, or miniskirts that show too much, and a man lusts after her because of it, then she's just as guilty of that sin as he is. I personally think a lot of women, even some saved Christians, are one day going to have to answer for themselves when He asks them why they were dressing like that, and have to stand in front of a large line of men who are guilty of lusting after her and have to answer for what she did.

In the dream the OP posted, that might be partly why the woman was being warned about the way she was dressing. However, to actually say a woman will go to Hell for dressing in a risque manner? I don't know. That's going along the lines of "can you lose your salvation?" and I really don't want to open that can of worms here. I will say, though, that if a woman is a Saved Christian, she should have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which justifies her and then sanctifies her over time, and she would surely dress more modestly and turn away from sinful things and treat her own body with some respect (instead of showing it off like a common harlot would).

He told them a parable about two sons in a vineyard. The people responded correctly to the question, but in doing so they proved themselves hypocrites, and Jesus calls them out on that in the verse after the one you quoted, saying "a Harlot would get into Heaven before you." He's not saying Harlots are openly welcomed there (unless of course they repent which is the whole point of the parable and the verses after it), mind you. This is a lot like the "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven" (pp) that He says elsewhere in the Gospels.

Agree and understood what you are saying. Timothy and other scriptures tell us in all thing to be modest. To me, my opinion, is to seek what that is for each of us. Being modest in clothes, make up, the things that we perhaps even own, not to over indulge but to be modest. Heard a pastor say let God tell you what you should wear and how to dress, we should never have to tell someone, let God work it out for them. Sometimes someone gets saved and someone doesn't like how or what they are wearing and thinks its their duty to tell them to be like them, and like this pastor said, God saved them, let God work on cleaning them up. Sadly in my old church I would see woman coming to grace, only to have legalist woman, with right hearts or not jump in and start showing and telling them what is right and wrong and they need to this and that with their hair, clothing….Here Jesus took their burdens away, and some "christians" want to throw "their" burdens right back on them.

Yeah, I agree... Legalism is not what Christ intended. He wants Love, and God to be the center of our lives, not a list of rules made by men.

Jesus gave us the rules we need. Love God, Love our neighbors, and repent/stay away from sin. Everything else should fall into place.

Im just stunned how mystical Christians can be when they will believe a dream, as if it is equal to Scriptue

Since I have dreams and visions from the Lord, and since this lines up with scripture that God does such things to his people would you care to explain what your saying, and why you felt posting this here? You believe if Christians have dreams they must be mystical….?

I've had a few dreams myself that had His "mark" on them. You can just..... tell the difference.

For me, in the 35 years of my life, my dreams never have audible sound (sounds are imagined) and sensation of touch. I've had Religious-related dreams that have had both touch and sound that persisted a moment or two after I woke up and the first thought in my mind is "God" when I wake up after one of these kinds of dreams.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that these dreams came from Him. The one even interrupted another mundane dream I was having at the time.

Acts 2:17 context is a fulfillment in that day and time. Everyone dreams. Just because one has a dream related to Christian topics doesn't make it God given. Everyone dreams. Dreams can feel so real you swear they were real. So real you could believe they were from God, but it was your own mind working through the info you have learned. Can the mind get it correct? Yes, but it could also be true in your own mind but false in reality. Either way doesn't equate it to God. No more than a Mormon, Jew, Muslim or Hindu dreaming about their faith and saying the same thing stated here. Is their dream from God?

I would never claim God can't give visions, in the Scriptural sense and not business sense most churches today work from. I would state 99%+ of so called visions/dreams today are not from God, and most end up taking Scripture out of context to validate dreams, just like Acts 2:17.

Give me one so-called Christian leader today spouting off visions from God. I bet Chris Rosebrough has already debunked them due to no Scriptural basis or Scripture way out of context.

Totally disagree with you. Your assumption that Acts 2:17 was for that day and time only are 100 % false. People today are still living the book of Acts. I have seen visions and dream come 100% true, and only by the hand of God, I've seen tongues, interpretation of tongues, I have seen great works of faith, I have seen miracles in peoples lives and my own, I have seen healings, and have been healed by the hand of God, I have seen the demon possessed and seen them delivered….the book of Acts continues today. Are their false prophets out there, absolutely, but why dismiss the book of Acts as being just a fulfillment of that time. Guess I won't make a good Baptist….lol.

Dragon, this is why so many people make Scripture say what they want it to say. Read the actual context. Peter quoting Job was to demonstrate it had been fulfilled on Pentecost. Your taking a descriptive text of Scripture and making prescriptive to defend mystical responses.

In 2:14, Peter...

is talking to crowd...

Vs8-11 about the languages they hear coming from the disciples...

Vs 15 Because the crowd thought they were drunk....

He told it was too early in the morning for that....

Vs 16 Peter said this was a fulfillment of Joel's prophecy

Vs17-21 Peter tells them the words from Joel which were fulfilled

Why was this fulfilled? To proclaim Christ to the known world, which was right there listening.

She gathered all her jewelries, makeup, shoes, weavon, trousers and clothes that do not befit a christian and burnt them all with fire. She started dressing normally as a child of God. One day (as we saw it on the screen) The pastor of her church saw her and said, "Sister, what happened to you?" She explained the revival meeting, and said, "My pastor, You are not telling us the truth of the Way of the Lord Jesus". He replied, "Oh my God, you have gone to worship with all these churches! For God has nothing to do with your way of dressing because you have believed Him in your mind". Because of what the pastor said, she went back home and started dressing in her old worldly ways again. After service one day, on her way back home, she got involved in an auto accident and she died and went to hell fire! IT WAS INSIDE HELL FIRE SHE WAS CRYING, "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MY PASTOR!" Why do you think female trousers are wrong? I don't really nitpick on how others dress, but when women wear dresses, i think it looks too formal and old fashioned.

Why are you saying pants are men's clothing? In many cultures, both men and women were robes, but that doesn't make it cross dressing.
