Awwww, its okay Leo..... just think back to the first time you saw and talked to me.... that flutter that happened when we first spoke and you saw me for the first time. That feeling you felt. That was love. Its a VERY common phenomenon when I walk by, talk to, or even double wink at a woman. ;)

LOL I liked that.

But seriously, I was in love once. That feeling you describe is actually infatuation, first attraction. Real love is so much more. I would have given my life for her without a second thought or a seconds hesitation. And Heaven help anyone I perceived as a threat to her.

I didn't date for years afterward. And I do mean YEARS.

Such poignancy in being single! I'm glad there are others out there who enjoy it though. I know I quite enjoy it myself because from my past experience, the Lord took me out of some relationships and if it weren't for Him I don't know where I'd be :)

Ironic that a common thing people perceive they are missing out on is having someone to sleep with and/or cuddle. But if you go over the married site, you will find quite a few people who are married who would prefer the other person sleep elsewhere and they still have no one to cuddle with either.

99% of people have to answer to someone else, anyway. Be it a employer, a parent, or society in general.
. . .and being in a relationship adds one more to that list. Plus a relationship is 24,7 unlike the other ones.

There's also the greener pasture syndrome.

Ive been single and making my own decisions for more than 30 years. There isn't a lot that I haven't seen or done. Honestly, it would have been nice to have shared some of those experiences with my "wife". Taking other people's feelings and needs into consideration is a small price to pay.

In any case, as Christians, the primary relationship we have (with The Lord God, of course) is one that requires a lot of attention to detail and a lot of time relationship building, through prayer and seeking and following His will for our lives. That is our primary relationship model and it is one that means continuously having to answer to Him. And yet having to answer to Him brings the greatest rewards.

Yes its never good to be bound or in an unequally yoked relationship.
I much prefer being single to bondage.
Also being single is a blessing as you just need to bear your own burdens not anyone elses.

If you married youve not only got your spouse but also responsible for any children you might have. And even if your spouse dies or you split up, you still need to care for your children, they are still yours, you cannot divorce from them.

That's only if you see your spouse and children as a "burden".

It is easier to please the Lord than someone else.
I do find that, some people are just not easy to please. Also the rewards are far greater as that relationship you are cultivating is eternal.

Marriage only lasts as long as you and that person live on earth.
And so called relationships people seem to have these days dont seem to last that long cos people change. But Jesus christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

I agree, our senses are higher heightened when experiencing certain things in life with a love interest/wife/companion.

Many single people however look at marriage through colored glasses making the mistake of idolizing marriage.

You should do today as you would if you had a partner.

So true! Children are a responsibility I hope to have myself someday, but until then, waiting on the Lord's timing. There is a lot of responsibility in terms of marriage and children and it is good to mentally and spiritually and financially and emotionally prepare for these responsibilities while single.

That's just it. I have. Doing it again, alone, would just be boring. Young people look at marriage through rose tinted glasses, but I'm not that young. My family is open and honest about marriage. Ive seen the good, the bad, and the very, very bad.

Well William, you never know, honestly, it doesn't matter how old you are, as long as you are still alive the Lord may still bring someone into your life, it'll be like a Sarah and Abraham and Isaac thing but just with the getting married later in life. There's always hope, who knows what the Lord has planned for you? :)

That's the one thing that keeps me open to marriage.

Yes i think dont discount the later marriage scenario.
People really do mellow a bit as they age and not so self seeking they are when they are young. Not saying you are of course! But just that i think people learn to appreciate the simpler things in life after a while.

A good marriage is a beautiful thing. Something everyone who desire hopefully gets to experience.

Funny thing is there are those who receive without trying and on the other hand there are those who keep trying without receiving.

It's not so comforting hearing God's time is the best but I know there's nothing God hasn't planned out in extensive detail, our last resort is to keep praying that His time gets to us before we quench or completely lose interest.
