  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Would like to hear everyone's favorite tv series. I'm trying to find something new to watch. Any type, 60s to 90s era. Want some good stuff I may have missed.

Already have:

Green Acres
Seinfeld
Night Court
Get Smart
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Animaniacs
Tiny Toons
He-Man
The Dick Van Dyke show
Perfect Strangers
Matlock

...just as a beginning. Again, would love to know what everyone here liked and I may have missed.

You already have Seinfeld, so major kudos there!

I'd recommend Futurama (I'm kind of obsessed, obviously^_^), The X-Files, and Doctor Who if you're looking for some great sci-fi and comedy. I'm a big fan of Remington Steele as well, if an 80's detective show with Pierce Brosnan is up your alley. It has a lot of witty writing and fun elements to it.

I'm not a big TV watcher but I do like revisiting these from time to time:

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
The Venture Bros.
Home Improvement
King of the Hill

I have to say Frasier, for sure. It's very unique in its cast, and their acting is emphasized all the more by how well written it is. And I also push Futurama too. It's a lot more than meets the eye, and I say that because I think it has more substance than people give it credit for. You have to enjoy the humor, but the characters and their arcs are so well done. They did well in distinguishing it among other cartoons of its kind.
