I believe we can only begin to talk about evangelism when we start with the right nation where we can win as many souls as possible. Western nations have hardened their hearts to the gospel, though 99% have knowledge of the gospel. I believe this is mainly because of their over-decadence and mis-education (governmental and media).
Many in the third world are like sponges, where conversions are exploding, because people seem more willing to open their hearts minds to the gospel and believe in Jesus because they do not suffer from these same ailments.
Ironically, though, there is at least one Kenyan mission to the US, and I've heard that there are Chinese missionaries preparing to come here. Perhaps it's as Jesus said, "'A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.'" (Mark 6)
The best place to go is where the Lord sends you. Concentrate prayer on being where the Lord wants you to be today. When you read the book of Acts, you see that they always went where the Lord specifically told them to go. Yes, pray for a vision of your "man from Macedonia."
You often don't have to go anywhere special, just pray earnestly.for the Lord to tell you who to speak to tomorrow morning.
Not long ago, I spent a couple of weeks with that prayer: "Lord, show me who you want me to speak to about You." Then one night, I got two dreams. In the first dream, I was going to gunstores all around town--not looking for a gun, but looking for a particular gun dealer. I woke up from that, didn't think much of it, and fell back asleeep. I had the second dream, this time I was in the library searching all the newspapers and magazines for gun advertisements, again searching for a particular gun dealer.
When I woke up, a thought came to me instantly: "Talk to John about Jesus." John was a man I knew, a gun dealer in a local pawn shop.
So I sought him out first thing that morning. Unsurprisingly, the events of the day were unusually haywire. It seemed like everything worked against me getting to him. But I got there, exchanged a bit of pleasantries, asked him how he was. Suddenly he opened up to me with a deep personal problem. I consoled and counselled him, talked to him about the Lord, which he received gladly.
The place to go is the place the Lord sends you, and He's the person to ask.
