Best Online Game

Okay, I ask many of these What do you think is the best or most whatever. So, I am now going to ask, what do you think is the best online game? It could be web online games, such as Runescape, Ragnarok Online, or Neopets, it could be Pc games with multiplayer online feature, such as Final Fantasy XI, Mechwarrior 4, or Counter-Strike, Strategy games, such as Starcraft, Warcraft, or Diablo series. You can choose one or more best online games in your collection. Mine is:

Personally, I'm very picky with online games. I don't really like RTS games like WarCraft 3 and the like, usually I stick to FPS's. Day of Defeat (a Half-Life mod) is what I've been playing exclusively for about a year now. I don't mind Battlefield 1942 or Call of Duty, but they don't match my undying love for Day of Defeat.

DoD is awesome, but not the best. But i have a question, are we talking just PC online gaming, or can we talk console too. Because X-box has X-Live, and you can also buy a modem for the PS2 and play it online. I'll do both.

PC : Half-Life mods; mainly TFC and DoD, Diablo 2 D2: LoD, Starcraft and SC:BW and thats really all that i play. However, i have played counter strike, and its good.

X-box: Ghost Recon, Unreal Championship, Mechassault and Jedi Academy.

But when Halo 2 comes out, it will rule all online games, on all systems, including PC.

Depends on what genre you're asking about..

For the shooters, it's RavenShield and Ghost Recon. (PC) For Simulation/RPG styles, Freelancer is pretty good, though it gets a bit repetitive. I haven't played any RTS' on-line, so I can't comment any of those. If it's MMORPG's, I'm looking forward to the MP patch for Enigma: Rising Tide. You also have Pirates of the Burning Sea that is supposed to be released mid-04.

mmorpg im still hooked on eq, soon to be WoW when it comes out /drool

FPS its still UT in sniper servers, nothing but snipers is insane, and im also waiting for UT 2k4's release which is also soon

The shooter I'm looking forward too, (ok drooling for) is Full Spectrum Warrior by THQ. Based on the screens I've seen, it looks like it'll be a pretty good game.

When im looking for a quick fix i log into Counter Strike or Team Fortress. If im looking for more of an extended play game w/ continuing plot then i turn to Asherons Call (enemy of EQ )

I might go as far as Battlefield Vietnam.
