I am on DSL, so speed here should not be a problem. I guess I assume that this forum sometimes is a little slow. I like the B&W porthole with the rope lines on either side. What ship is that?

Here are some pictures from my daughter's school play last week.

The Teton Range viewed from Signal Mountain.

Taken in June, 2003, with Pentax MX, 50mm lens, on Kodak Max ASA 400 film, and scanned with a HP ScanJet 6200.

The two photos were not taken with the intent of forming a panorama.

The right side of the panorama, Mount Moran with Skillet Glacier, was taken first. The Aspen and other trees were included to frame the mountain and add depth to the shot.

In the left side shot, the long view of the Teton Range, the Aspen was included in the foreground to add depth to the picture and enhance the upward sweep.

After posting the 2 separate shots here, I decided to try piecing them together. The merge was done with the Photomerge facility in Adobe Photoshop Elements. The 2 shots aligned perfectly, leaf for leaf on the tree.

Nice software, that Photoshop Elements.

Larry

hmmm, well how many megapixels is your camera?
because if you have cable net, it should definatly be fast enough. but i would lower the res if its a 2megapixel or higher............
I shrink my pics to 36KB and they are okay to load... 50 at a push... but some folk here are able to load huge photos... ??? Strange.

Top panoramic pic, LarryM! I've got a few shots of a gorge in the Blue Mountains National Park in Australia that I'd love to merge. Is it easy to do?

I'll pop up this shot I took in March up in Katoomba in the Blue Mtns up in Oz. I've resized it a bit so hope it comes up as clearly as it did.

Thank you. And that's a nice shot in fog from the trees . How did you get up there, BTW?

The photo merge was incredibly easy.

The copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements v 2.0 came with the Canon Digital Rebel I bought a few weeks ago, and that was the first time I used it.

I just selected Photomerge, gave it the list of photos, and shuffled them about with the mouse. When the overlapped parts got close enugh, they just snapped into place. I'll try a few others later in the week.

And I agreee with Stormboy ... there are a lot of noce pics in this thread!

Joy to all,
L

LarryM, I was standing on a first floor balcony. The house that I was staying in was partly suspended because of the ground slope. It's a pretty steep slope too, which helps give the impression that I was up a tree!

Found the Photomerge function easily. Now all I need to do is resize the panoramic shot a bit.

Ok, here's the panoramic pic of the valley I was talking about. Hope it shows up nicely. It merged fairly well, and besides the contrast in the sky where the photos merged, I'm happy with it.
Nice.
