Best ending to a movie?

As has "almost" become the norm, there's a ton of movies that when they end, leave you with a dry taste in your mouth. You up end thinking "is that it"? Thankfully, not all movies are like that, and some have spectacular endings. The kind you wish all movies ended with.

Have you seen a movie you feel had a spectacular ending?

Primal Fear. Best ending ever.

Definatley Primal Fear...done before people were TRYING to confuse you like in Vanilla Sky, not to mention only Edward Norton could change his face like that.

Haven't seen primal fear.

I'd say an ending like Terminator 3. It's very fresh and satisfying (though not very happy endign at all ). Ending to lotr3 wasn't very good as i hoped but still good nevertheless.

I ahve to see primal fear. =/

The end of The Two Towers Extended was great. Merry and Pippin, Legolas and Gimli were all at their best.

I like The Return of the King's ending, it did seem long but it is actually 6 endings because Peter Jackson had a hard time which one he wanted so he through them all in. I had feared a Matrix Revolutions style ending where it left you with still so many questions to be answered but it ended very well.

I don't know if anyone has seen, 'About Schmidt' with Jack Nicholson, but the movie was terrible.

However, if you manage to watch it ALL, the ending is truly... touching, in my mind at least. The ending actually made me feel sad, and happy at the same time. It kind of teaches a lesson, in a strange sort of way.

Don't recommend the movie, but only the ending. But then again if you don't watch the whole movie, the ending will make no sense, so go figure.

About Schmidt was good if you like character-driven films.

Good endings, two come to mind--The Usual Suspects and The Game. And Memento, so that's three.

My favorite types (apart from happy ones, yeah, I'm sentimental) are twists. The afformentioned The Usual Suspects and No Way Out are two of the best I've ever seen.

My favorite ending on a movie has got to be The Shawshank Redemption. Absolutely love the ending on that one even if it took about 20 some odd minutes to finish.

I posted mine at the end and scrolled up and saw yours. Don't you feel that was a foretaste of heaven image? After the horrors of prison, and the fears of life outside to arrive in a beautiful place with a friend who loves you. If we're so moved by this in a movie how beyond words incredible will heaven be!

I agree that ABOUT SCHMIDT was a great movie. The ending was indeed sad. Jack Nich is one of my favorite actors as well.
