Whats the best christian book you've read and why?

Mine was ''the hidden power of prayer and fasting'' by mahesh chavda. I didnt eat for 2 weeks after reading that book. Its so powerful! Changed my life.

That book or ''the call'' book by lou engle explaining the reason for having various youth conferences. It was really short but it really sparked something in me to push harder to be one a John the Baptist typed people.

So whats yours?

My favorite books have to be:

Case for Christ & Case for Faith by Lee Strobel
Mere Christianity & other books by CS Lewis ( he makes u think)
Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren (read it and apply it or its useless)
Left Behind ( some books are better than others )

My favorite Christian book is Revelations: There's a Light After the Lime, written by Mason Betha (aka Ma$e, a former player in the rap game with P. Diddy and the Bad Boy family). His story is amazing and extremely powerful. It'll open your eyes to see what life is really all about, all coming from someone who left the fame, money, women, drugs and alcohol to follow God.

Hmmm...almost anything by Max Lucado most definitely!!!:)
Yep, two thumbs-up for Max! I have this Devotional Bible with him as the general editor too; lotsa valuable insights included from him...

I wouldn't know what's the best book I'd read, but recently I read a book called "How to Talk about Jesus without Freaking Out". It's a very good evax book, recommended by Josh Mcdowell, but I forgot the authors' names, plz forgive me...I know it's a couple and their good friend, I think theyr'e Jim & Karen and Victorya? They worked in Hollywood, which is definitely not the easiest place to talk about Jesus, and they really give very practical and useful tips on the subject, which I'm definitely looking for opportunities to apply.

And also recently I read an excerpt from Ravi Zacharias’ I, Isaac, Take Thee, Rebekah (Nashville: W Publishing, February 2004); I think it would be a very insightful and useful book. Here's some into about the book:

Ravi explains the principles of seeking counsel in others when finding a mate, cherishing your partner, remaining pure, and risking everything in a relationship in order to experience God's ideal love.
Sad to say I'm on tight budget now, sigh...
