  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 What was your favourite sci fi movie of all time?

 What was the worst one you ever saw?:(

My favourite was Quatermass and the pit.

The 'worst' was a 1958 film called 'Santa Claus conquers the martians' (I'm not joking). It was so appallingly bad it was brilliant! It was so bad (and therefore good) that I bought the DVD.

I accidentally watched most of "Wing Commander" once on Sci-Fi, what a terrible movie... "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" makes me think of "The Three Stooges in Orbit".

Best sf movie? I'll have to keep thinking about that one...

Ok, Obviously you KNOW what my best is, so I am not going to bother and post it.

Worst: Lost in Space. They should of just left a classic t.v show alone :( ans Wing Commander like SpacedOut said.

Even though I am much more of a bookworm than a movie buff, I do try to watch all of the scifi flicks I can (except horror - hate that!)
Favorite - Have to agree with a previous poster and choose Stargate. I have a Special Edition DVD with an extra 9 minutes of movie - it's an excellent 9 minutes :).

Worst: It was called Alien from LA and was a cheesy B Grade with a girl (with big girls) who couldn't act stuck in the LA sewer system. Can't remember the plot (if there was one)

Also Rans for favorite:
Starman
Last Starfighter
Contact (but the ending was lame - same with the book)
Fifth Element

Best: Return of the Jedi. Yes that's right, not A New Hope, or The Empire Strikes Back, but Return of the Jedi. Why? 3 words: Battle of Endor.

Wost: Oh, I don't know......... I've seen some pretty horrible ones. Probably some of the ones that were covered in Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Best : Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien resurrection (special thinking for the french director ;) )

Worst : Mars attack... I can't trust it exists and that some people like it...:sorry:
I have a six year old son who thinks that 'Mars Attacks' just totally rocks. He watches it on video at least twice a week.

Hey! I am new here so please forgive my lack of experience.........

The best sci-fi movie I have ever seen is.............um....... hold on a sec..

Anyway......... the worst is definitely lost in space. My parents really like old movies and thus I was forced to watch this........ horrors!!!!!:help:

The next worst was probably The Phantom Menace. Don't get me wrong I love star wars and the story line was semi-okay but the acting was AWFUL!!!!!!

I can act better than that...........

Um, yes, back to the best one.......... Return of the Jedi would have been pretty good, if they had taken out a few lines and added clothes to Leia in Jabba's Palace.......... I liked A New Hope. I think I will stick with that...... :)
