  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

WoW! I'm surprised! I thought Part 3 of the Beloved Jesus thread came up pretty fast. Steph was around to witness the birth of the "Phase 3: Beloved Jesus ~ the Sequel." :D

Charlie, I appreciated what you shared about the painting in the other thread. That was so touching and beautiful. I'm going to bring that forward and over here.

Good to see Hadessah, Robin, ye ole stand bys and me good friend Stephie! Waiting on Amy Lisa. And of course anyone who wants to join us.

Group hug everyone! :groupray:

So I am going to change my outfit to celebrate the new thread. I'm going for a summery hang out look. There's only one month of summer left.:swoon:

I'll look for a new picture for my signature picture.

Fun, fun, FUN!!!!!

*One more note: I hope you come and visit the Bride of Christ thread. The Lord has been showing me some really encouraging stuff!

Wrtten by Charlie:

"That really is an awesome picture! That picture also portrays Jesus with large, very expressive, eyes. In this picture I see sadness and desperate pleading in His eyes. He seems to be looking at somone who has walked away from Him and He is thinking: "Do not walk away from Me and reject Me. I love you. I really love you. I will prove My love for you by dying for you. Turn from your vain manner of living and believe in Me. I really am everything I said I am. I really will be everything to you I said I would be."

Everyone: This is your first meditation on the new Beloved Jesus thread. The picture is meant to inspire you. Please list 10 things you adore about Jesus.  Let's honor Him! I'll post my list after you. It doesn't matter if you repeat someone elses faves.

P.S. If you can't think of ten just try and come up with as many as you can. I am trying to S-t-r-e-t-c-h our thoughts about Jesus.

Wow, Hadessah! You have WINGS!

Have been busy working on some writing projects and other stuff--like, I went to a birthday party yesterday. Can't seem to get subscribed to this new thread. Or is it automatic?

We had a birthday party yesterday also. For my daughter who turned 12. I'm still pretty sleepy cause we also went to the drive in last night to see Evan Almighty. The kids loved it, I knew they would!

Hadasseh, an angel with a cup of coffee! Yes!
I think I'll put on my summeer clothes too.

Hi Ames! New thread! Yaayy! Will be back later, we're cleaning up around here right now.:crosseo:

4.) He treats me like a princess
5.) He never once has said a mean, nasty or unthoughtful word to me.

8.) He has purpose and vision and dreams for me.
9.) I never feel uncomfortable around Him. He is a good Friend.

Dear ones, beloved in Him,

How precious is your love for Him! Dear sister Amy and dear sister Monica - The lists that you posted are really wonderful. They really speak forth the beautiful virtues of our Beloved Jesus! He is so beautiful! He is like no other!

We had our 8-year-old nephew stay with us this weekend. We had a marvelous time together, but he passed along a yucky virus to me. This thing has drained all my energy - I don't think I have ever felt so weak in my entire life! It reminds me of Him who became utterly weak for our sakes. He knows exactly what I am going through. It was He who bore all our griefs and sicknesses!

I will be back later when I am feeling better.

Hi Monica! WELCOME! Glad you felt comfortable enough to post something. Hope you will continue to share your heart with us. Loved your ten faves about Jesus! The one that stood out the most to me was He comforts me when I am suffering. Isn't that the truth? He has walked the path of suffering so He is the "expert comforter."

Amy Lisa, I appreciate this truth about Jesus too. He makes me feel absolutely safe. Very good point!

Charlie, I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. You must get better right away. We surround you with prayer. :groupray: Please Jesus...take care of our brother and nourish him back to health. We trust in You. Amen! :amen:

I am done with the battle for a while. Read my blog, it explains. Don't know if/when I will be back. I am just too tired.

Hadessah,

My heart goes out to you! Please know that we love you. You are our sister. :groupray:

Please consider your Bridegroom Jesus. Think of Him when He carried the heavy cross. He was so weak and exhausted after being scourged, crowned with thorns, beaten and spat on. He was so tired that He could scarce put one foot in front of the other. Then He fell, not once but at least three times, the heavy cross lying on top of Him! And like anyone of us, while He lay in the dust and the dirt how simple it would have been for Him to give up the fight, to simply will to die in the street? After all He had already been beaten with the flaggrum, a deadly weapon studded with pieces of sharpened bone. Wasn't that enough blood for the sacrifice? We can't comprehend the excruciating pain He was in.

But He didn't give up! What amazing, incredible passion He must have had just to move even an inch and force Himself to stand and once again pick that heavy cross! What determination to get up and walk on to an even greater pain, the pain of the crucifixion! He did it for many reasons. Yes love was the surpreme reason but He also did it so that you would remember and have a graphic image of one who was tired and weary just as you are but who got up and walked on. Jesus fell for all our falls, failures and sins. He fell for the times we would want to give up.

Jesus suffered but He triumphed in the end. Then came the glory of the Resurrection. In the midst of our suffering we have hope. There is the light at the end of the tunnel. "Christ in us, the hope of glory!" The power to conquer does not come from us but from Jesus who dwells within us. It is not by might nor by power but by My spirit says the Lord. Apart from Me you can do nothing.

I encourage you to turn your eyes on Jesus. Give Him all that is troubling you. Let Him strengthen you and support you. He is our victory. He can be your will where you have not will. For Jesus' sake don't give up. (See Romans 8)

Jesus falls beneath the cross...

In reading your blog, I don't know what it is that you feel so badly about. But I do know that feeling, of just being utterly exhausted....maybe feeling like a failure, and 'can't go on anymore.'
I didn't realize you are a wife and mom also....and those are demanding 'jobs.'
Is it possible for you to take some time alone? Even if it is just to go out for a few hours, by yourself, with no one there to make demands of you.
Jesus even told the disciples, "come apart to a lonely place and rest awhile.' We need that too, just as much.

Thinking of you!

Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV) 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
May all who are weary be lifted up today, O God of glory and God of hope, through our savior and Lord Jesus Christ. I love the Word through Isaiah, and pray that today divine opportunities and appointments (yes, even people) be placed in the paths of those in dispair, that even just a little giggle becomes the oil of joy that soothes, so we can praise Him, and that praise may be a covering to keep us as we recover. He is planted in us, and by belief, we are righteous through Him. Oh God let us glorify you in our dispair.

In the strong but gentle name of Jesus,
Amen
