  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I look upon the Lamb who died for me,
I see His suffering and feel His pain-
I see the wounds my sin has made Him bear
And hear the voices mocking at His shame
This is my Lord, the One who owns my love,
The suffering One who bleeds and dies for me.

I look upon the glorious risen King
I share his victory and all His gain
I see his face shine radiant as the sun
And find in Him release from all my pain.
This is my Lord, the one who broke my chains
The risen One who conquered death for me!

I look upon my Saviour, Master, Friend
The one who suffered all that I deserve
I see the suff'ring servant and the King
One and the same, the One I live to serve.
I cannot understand the mystery here-
But this I know - my life is ever His.

I see my wondrous, loving, living Lord,
I cannot comprehend what He has done
I cannot ever plumb his depths of love
But I may claim the victory He's won!
And so I bow in adoration here
And lay my life in worship at His feet!

Friends in Christ,

Here is a scripture to ponder especially as we approach the memory of His death and resurrection. :amen:

Mark 8:31 - And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Well, I wasn't agle to come here yesterday (that was hard) but today I read the last pages of the thread before it broke and formed "Beloved Jesus" part II. I would like to thank you all for your love, support and encouragement. You are all a tremendous blessing. I look forward to our fellowship. That's why I come here every day to read the words that He has inspired you to write and to catch up on what He is doing in your lives.

"Congrats folks!! We've reached 100 pages on this thread!!! and without getting it shut down! This is definately a spirit-inspired, and spirit-filled thread. Let's keep it going until Christ comes if possible!"

Now that would be waaaaaay cool!

That poem is beautiful, Criada! And thanks for the scripture Pilgrimgal!

I hope no one minds if I bring forward the poem I wrote a while ago...

Forever

Oh, that I love thee! With the breath of every day,
And the sight of every sun
In such a crowded world I see only one!
Oh, that I love thee in every way
To the limit of my soul and the extent of my heart
I leave no place for another, for surely only thee I need!
And every thought that passes is for you
And every breath I breathe and sigh I sigh and day I see
Is seen with only you!
I cannot count the stars, nor the grains of sand along the shore
But though great the number would be, I know I love thee more!
I love thee with every passing need
And all the longing of my soul belongs to thee.
I love thee to the height of every sky
And the depth of all the seas
I care not for “how” or “why”
With you I am free!
Oh, that I love thee! In the silence of night,
When quiet is a song
And every thought is said without one word:
I love thee true!
I love thee with a love no might could conquer
If even be tried!
And let the floods do their worst
For no flood could drown out love, is not it said?
Oh that I love thee, and I find no other words
To tell you with all the simplicity of the sought
And the smile of understood
For with you I cannot hide my smile!
Oh, that I love thee! Forever do I love thee!
For you are the reason my heart does beat
And without you I know not life
For life without you ~ my only true love
Has not meaning at all.
If I be granted one wish, then let it be this:
May love by all be seen.

What has happened? What has Jesus done? The all glorious One, He who is God from God, Light from Light, begotten not made, one in being with the Father has taken on our humanity, clothed Himself in human flesh and in doing so a spear, a solid object is able to lodge itself in a solid Heart, not a heart of the imagination, not an illusion or a dream, not a mirage but a real, human heart.

There it was, when Jesus died, that roman spear aimed and pierced the beautiful Heart of Jesus. Amazing to think that the Godhead permitted it, the creation of Jesus' human body
so that spear could find a home in Christ's side. A dreadful thought indeed, yet a wonderous, amazing picture...For love, Jesus received more than Cupid's arrow but the deadly lance of the centurion proving once and for all that He had paid the sacrifice even as far as pouring out the last drop of His blood.

"And immediately blood and water flowed..."

What's there in His side as He pulls aside the folds of His robe and shows us His greatist treasure? Not a scar, not a little mark...No, it is clearly evident just as John who saw told us, a wound large enough to place a man's hand within! A brutal revilement of Christ's body yes, yet a sign of His triumphant love.

He's no phantom, not a spirit...that's actual flesh and bone standing in front of you. He didn't shed His body in the tomb. He's right where you are although the dimension He's standing in is different then yours. Your physical eyes may not see Him there but let Him step into our dimension and we shall be blinded by His glory just as Paul was when He saw the Risen Savior on the road to Damascus. Paul, blinded for three days because of the radiant light shining from Jesus.

Here is His testimony of His love for you, the massive wound in His side. He opened the way for you so that you could come to His side and hide within like a dove seeks shelter in a nest hidden in the cleft of the rock. Remember how Moses struck the rock in the wilderness and water flowed from the rock? Paul tells us the rock was Christ. Jesus' side, struck violently so that we could find peace.

Come near and be assured of His love for you! We look with the undimmed eye of faith. We hear His voice in our hearts...

"Come! Reach forth your hand and put it in My side."

O see! My gentle Heart was riven, thrust through and through!
The caverns of My heart drip with healing dew.
Dying to all else, let your strength be spent.
In the cave of My Heart you shall be content.
The honey-drops of My Heart, feed upon My Bride!
Be suckled at My breast. Drink of My wounded side!

KisstheSon, when you shared your latest words about the wound in Christ's side and a sentence began, "He has opened," I suddenly got this idea of his side being like the curtain to the Holy of Holies, and when it was rent God's heart became available to us all!

Hebrews 9: 11-12 - But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

Here's a great scripture for ya!

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

So God has given us a clear picture of Jesus' wounded side as the way through which we enter the Holy of holies, Christ being the new and living way. He is the rent curtain and passing through His wounds we find ourselves in the Holy place.

I would encourage everyone who visits this thread to watch this link. Thank you so much Ivy!

The very first image brought tears to my eyes. As the images progressed I sobbed.

Then I fell on the breast of Jesus and begged Him to kill me first if I ever decide to walk away from Him. I can't bear the thought.

Jesus please bind us to Yourself hand to foot. Oh my God we are weak beings and our love fades like the grass. Yeshua, Yeshua...apart from You we can do nothing. Have mercy on us.
