How so? Why do you expect Christians to foresee scientific discoveries not made yet? I see no indictment here. Do you indict yourself for not knowing what science will have discovered 500 years from now that renders some of today's science false?

Not when I know they are in error. But the Wikipedia quote is about earlier notions of abiogenesis and is correct to say these are now more commonly known as spontaneous generation. Today's understanding of abiogenesis is different from spontaneous generation. The only thing both have in common is the idea of life coming from non-living matter.
