Slavery was carried out for centuries before evolution became the current biological flavour. Slavery can be a form of racism.
The Dutch Reformed Church was largely responsible for the policy of apartheid in South Africa. European colonialists were exploiting native races long before Darwin arrived on the scene.
The real problem is human nature. We'll use anything to justify exploiting others - sex, money, race, power, religion, nationalism, political ideology.
It all flies in the face of the second commandment "Love your neighbour as you love yourself". We'll be judged on more than just our "faith" - the way we treat others will be very much in the line of fire.
