My, that's an awfully big word. What are you doing using technical terms like that in GT?Goodness me, it's called metonymy! You know, how "suit" can stand in for "business professional" or how "the pen is mightier than the sword" is only true if pen represents the words that pens are used to write?
Come on guys.
The wood accomplished nothing.
Certainly not righteousness.
Try 2 cor 5:21.
I think, mostly, what I think of is how that whole thing reflected some of that "giving them over to their own lusts" that God did so much of.
He allowed them to become so frenzied and self-focused, that they actually murdered their own longed-for hope.

You come on. Do you think we don't know that a hunk of wood is just a hunk of wood? The wood symbolizes what was on it. We are not so dense and illiterate as you would like to believe that we are.

Humans make symbols. It is how we process things. The Scripture is full of symbolism, in the words of Christ no less, who taught using symbols all the time.
Seems a little odd to be objecting to? It's not like there aren't plenty of hymns and songs about the Cross in Protestantism of all kinds. This is not a "Catholic" thing ...

Amen."Blessed is the wood by which righteousness comes." Wisdom 14:7
What comes to mind first when I think of the Cross is that it is on the Cross where we see the fullness of God's revelation of Himself to us. That it is only by first seeing God hanging on the Cross that we can truly know Him for Who He truly is.
Do you know some gathering of people who tend to forget this? I mean except in a dementia ward.
Change the URL from https:/ to http:/None say anything about the wood though.
I think what you wrote is offensive, it certainly isn't a "just sayin" thing.Sure seems like the RCC and Orthodox sure do focus a lot on the Baby and the Cross (with him still on it), than they do with the resurrection..... No offense but just sayin..

Amen.1 Corinthians 1:18King James Version (KJV)
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
If you believe that - you seriously need to attend a Pascha service in an Orthodox Church. And for the - what is it? Seven or so weeks after?
The Resurrection is HUGE!
