Been thinking recently

About my best friend who passed away some years ago, just recently i cant get the though out my head, its been years, yet when i think about it, it seems like only yestaday, the thing is, its like i moved on after the death, but its like all of a sudden, the memories have come suddenly back, hitting me like a ton of bricks.

I just cant get it out of my head, that somebody everyone in my area knew, someone who was like a brother to many, just becomes an afterthought.

This might feel strange, but it actual feels like a feeling of "guilt", that i and others just move on and in a way "forget" somebody who was like a brother to me.

Don't worry. God has made it able for you too see him again. Your friend is in a great place so you don't have to worry about feeling guilty because he is in paradise. We will all meet our loved ones that we lost afterwhile.

Actually for me anyway it is a process, and at times we have to put it down for a while only to pick it back up again when we are ready. We heal a little deeper each time it is brought back up, like peeling the layers of the onion. Some don't pick it back up for many years because it is too painful, others drag the pain through out their life never coming to terms with it. Coming to terms with it doesn't mean that we are forgetting the person, but a process of life we all will go through in Gods time.
The blessing of it is we know where our love ones are through Jesus and will see them again.

Feeling guilty when some one dies is a normal part of greiving, I still have moments of guilt over the death of my brother though he died over 12 years ago. Though I know I have nothing to be guilty of. The fact that you are thinking about your friend means he wont be forgotten and I know it sounds cliched but from my own experiance no one ever really dies as long as someone remembers them. I find it helps if you try to focus on the good times.
