Thanks, Beth. I've already spent some time on probe.org. I found it interesting... I'll give tektonics.org a look. Thanks for the suggestions
So, you went from Christian to atheist and back to Christian? If I may ask, what was it that brought you back? Was it apologetics, like those sites? Just curious
Hi again eepy -
I was a nominal Christian at first (one in name only, not born again because I hadn't trusted in Christ to be my sinbearer). The I became an atheist - can't remember if I said why - it was because the liberal denomination I attended taught their were mistakes in the Bible. I just swallowed it whole, without asking for proofs. So I decided, why not throw the whole thing out.
After being an atheist for about 12 years, I played the Ouija Board, thinking it was just another game like Monopoly. I immediated became demon oppressed - there were lots of signs and abilities. Each time something supernatural would happen, in fear I would cry out to God to make it stop, and it would for a day or so. (As they say, no atheists in foxholes.)
Since it became obvious that there was a supernatural world with both good and evil beings, I begin looking for the true God so I could be safe. I had intended checking into major religions. But almost as soon as I started, a Christian friend gave me a copy of the Late Great Planet Earth. By showing that past biblical prophecies had been fulfilled 100% of the time (unlike other prophets), my old objection about errors in the Bible was erased. There are many other proofs given in Christian Evidences, but that was enough for me.
So, when the book gave a Gospel invitation, I decided to trust in Christ alone to be my sinbearer and to get me to Heaven one day, without any good works or promises of my own. At the moment I made that decision, I became a Christian.
I have never regretted it for a moment. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Or if you wish, see "Personal Testimony" in my website listed on my profile page.
Hope you enjoy tektonics. I have listings of other sites too.
Aloha in Jesus, friend
